I can't say I've ever been a Mac guy. But let's get real. Played good Ds so far. With new OC. They had a prior OC/system for like 21 years. Now they have changed quite a bit. Takes time.

Its the 16 game rule. You dont know what you have till youve played 16 games. He's an average QB, teams know he regresses to the mean against man coverage. Every D coordinator in the league knows that now, until he proves he can beat it he will one of the many that enjoyed their first year success but got found out once there were enough games on film. He'll be lucky if he finds the success of Andy Dalton before becoming a perennial backup. And this is from someone who liked him during the draft... just not at f*ckin 3 lol.

You're saying HE can't beat man coverage. There was a stat I seen where NE last year had the least amount of separation in entire league. That makes it harder to complete passes versus one on one doesn't it? Also been stated he has no freedom to change anything at the LOS last year or this year up to this point. One of his strengths coming out.
Again he hasn't been great and you can't be turning the ball over. But he hasn't been horrible either. Aside from Pittsburgh game.
No matter what you think of him. The 9ers would still be better off with him over Jimmy or Trey.
The one thing Trey had on Mac was his running ability. Now the zone don't want him to run. So if we don't want our QB running give me the better passer. Which was my stance from the very beginning. For what Mac is or isn't he is still a better QB than Trey. We are still hoping Trey gets to Mac's level. A guy that gets mocked around these parts but we were HOPING Trey reached his level this year. Now in Trey's 3rd season we STILL will be HOPING Trey reaches Mac's level as a passer.
Which is ironic, NE has taken away one of Mac's strengths (his mind) by not allowing him to adjust at the LOS. Shanny was playing to Trey's strengths (running) now the board wants to take away Trey's strength (running) and play to his weakness.
None of it makes any sense.
DISCLAIMER: didn't watch MiA game. So only two games I seen was Pitt and Balt.
That was one of the funniest things I've read in a while. We would be way better off with Trey than Mac Jones. Please Unless throwing ints and playing like garbage has suddenly become the metrics for a better qb

Pretty definitive proof today that Jones is the worst QB on the team.

#1 in first down rate per att (53%)
#1 in sack % (0 sacks)

Mac Jones sucks. Deal with it. You were wrong on him being good.
