Bill Belchick indicated he didn't consider a Hail Mary on the final play: "Couldn't throw it that far." pic.twitter.com/5BiaJqfNZq

Trey has been excused from not looking as good as Brock because he never got a chance to play with CMC.
Well Mac never got a chance to play with Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk etc.....
He's constantly throwing to covered dudes. Though I didn't watch this whole game so...

Kendrick Bourne joins Mac Jones in his Patriots offensive exasperation https://t.co/jaMX6otBXI

The playcalling will continue until morale improves
Seems like the regression is in big part to McDaniels departure. NE wasn't prepared to replace him. He's been doing this a long time. Looks like Mac, however, is clearly a system QB.

They replaced McDaniels with Patricia and it's gone about as well as expected when you move from an established OC to a career DC calling plays for your offense. Guys looking lost on offense, timeouts needing to be called because the play came in too late, TOs being used because people aren't lined up correctly, running spread looks on the goal line, taking TDs off the board because of dumb penalties, they look like Geep Chryst is calling plays out there.
You have Pats fans calling for even Belichick to get canned at this point. He got too cute when he could have simply hired someone with actual experience on that side of the ball.

An entire offense doesn't just magically regress the way they have, everything about them has the hallmark of poor coaching.
I don't have to look any further than see what Lions looked like with Patricia and what they look like with Campbell to know that he's a s**t coach.
It's hard to imagine an all-around worse offensive/ defensive/ head coach than Matt Patricia.

Coordinated Belichick's worst defense ever, culminating in the Nick Foles Super Bowl disaster.
Terrible tenure as head coach of the Lions.
Running New England's offense into the ground.
Matt Patricia is just a nightmare. What were the odds a 3rd and goal on the 1 quick slant to Nelson Agholor would work? Like 100-1? 300-1? Followed by the obligatory false start on 4th down. This is the dumbest Pats season since 1999.

Matt Patricia when asked if he has any regrets about the final play call:
— Dan Campbell's Kneecap (@CoachKneecaps) December 19, 2022
"Yeah, I don't think so. I think I got probably one of the biggest plays in the fourth quarter in the history of the NFL where I think I did a pretty good job," https://t.co/xrIzEvxOLM

I forgot what a MacFan you were. You're gonna be pouding that table until he's out of the league in a few years.

Remind me, who complained that bad coaching was setting a certain QB back?
What's clear is that Matt Nagy is an absolute moron who sets his quarterbacks up to fail. Fields doesn't trust his offensive line, which is why you see the inconsistency in the pocket. On one play he will sit there, go through his reads and deliver an absolute dime. The next play, his offensive line will he pushed into his face immediately and he will get sacked. There's just no consistency or identity to be able to accurately determine his play.

But now it can't possibly be an issue right? Jones hasn't been playing great by any stretch of the imagination but you have a second year QB being coached by a career defensive coordinator. Like this is a worse move then Nolan hiring Jim Hostler to be OC.
"We just need to scheme up better."
