A good high school coach could put together a better game plan/scheme than what I saw yesterday. It's hard to play when you know your OC is not competent to be calling the offense.

Matt Patricia as OC is one of the worst decisions Bill Belichick has every made.

I equate it to Andy Reid hiring Juan Castillo as a defensive coordinator even though he hadn't coached defense in 20+ years (for a HS team even at that). Horrific hiring decisions.

Gotta be frustrating to do your best on the field, with an OC that is below marginal, and then have a key game end like that.

A lot of all that has to fall back on Patricia, and BB for putting him in that position in the first place. If you are coaching fit athletes and look like the Pillsbury doughboy, don't blame your players if they don't fall in love with you (unless you are Andy Reid).

WOW! Good history. I had forgotten about that. At least Reid finally admitted his mistake and canned Castillo. That resulted in Todd Bowles' first gig as DC.

I don't care who the coordinator is. And again, I thought this kid was a processing machine? He should be able to find someone open, right? Fact is, he's consistently regressed since midway of last year. The book is out... stuff the run, he can't throw deep so sit on the short routes. Terrible arm strength, sloppy footwork and a relatively long delivery were his faults coming into the draft and they're rearing their heads now.

Mac Jones has limitations, but he isn't inept. The OC he has on the other hand....

I mean, I get all of that. But he should have tackled Chandler Jones, instead... he crumpled like wet napkin as Jones moved passed him to score. Not sure wtf Mac was doing on that play.

QBs don't tackle man they never learn how and don't practice it they just hope defenders trip over their limp bodies

Dumbest play in NFL history.

Just want to state for the record, that was his WR1 that made that play. That's the guy he has to rely on.

Well his WR2 says that the Patriots practice way harder than the 49ers

Also RB1 just had to fall down, but nope he started this disaster lol.

Well Mac was in disbelief the ball was coming back to him. Wtf do you expect him to do?

40 year old Robbie Gould probably doesn't practice tackling that much, but we've seen him make some on kickoffs before when he was the last line of defense. Like QBs, kickers aren't expecting to have to make a tackle, but sometimes that's what happens. Mac Jones is also a 220 LB athlete, he's not that small.

And that's because he couldn't throw it 55 yards. Need me to post the clip of BB saying this?
