can someone help me out, they left Zappe off roster going into this season, put him on PS, so clearly they are not that in on Zappe, why did they not get any backup worth anything? last year was a rough year, they could have invested in a plan B of some sort

that was just Bill taking advantage of the system with some roster finagling. Zappe was always returning. no one was picking him up.

They need to rethink who QB1 is, and I am not sure about their options

Yep he should of left when he no longer had Tom Brady. It seems like he wanted to prove it was him that deserves the majority of the credit for the Patriots success instead of Tom Brady. But if the Patriots didn't have Brady, I have my doubts that would of won any Superbowls during that time.

This is why Bill Walsh is soo revered. He didn't stick around past his prime as a Head Coach and make his legacy look worse. Although I wish he stayed around for a few more seasons.

I disagree with this. He deserves all the credit he has gotten. Yeah his time in New England maybe coming to an end but he put in a system that saw them win 6 super bowls. I don't think people realize just how hard it is to win a Super Bowl. You aren't going to win multiple Super Bowls with just a great QB. Guys like Marino, Peyton, Elway, Brees, Rodgers come to mind. It takes a great team to pull multiple super bowl wins off and Bill did it in 2 different decades.

Look at every NFL dynasty and you will see they have a couple things in common. A great head coach, a great QB and a balanced team. The HC is responsible in getting all 3.

Brady was a 6th round pick who couldn't start on his own college team consistently. To not credit the Patriot staff immensely in his development is ignoring who he was as a prospect.

He could start on his own team, based on ability, everyone knew he was the best QB over Drew Henson, they made commitments to Henson in the recruiting process in order to land him, that meant he got to play, and sucked, and TB had to often bail out MICH.
For all on Nick Wrights BS, he hit the nail on the head on this one..... you can't suck and be an a*****e....

Mac Jones has the absolute worst personality..... and it does not look like the media is going to suffer his BS and the media will call for his head and BB's head over it.

Anyone with eyes can see that the Pat's dont have weapons, and they have a collection of Dink and Dunk targets and they have to get off a slew of clean plays to march down the field and score. If Mac Jones was not a douce nozzle, fans and the media could at least sympathize with his situation....but God's honest truth....there are 3rd graders with more introspection and composer then Mac Jones.....dude is a man child.....

IF a gm trades for Mac Jones, he deserves to get fired...because he will end up fired...

This tread is full of me defending Mac Jones's ability. Mac Jones has NFL talent in my opinion.....there is a hell of a but tho.... BUT... Mac Jones is cancer. You can't watch a Pats game with out the dude oozing absolute jackass. He is cancer, the dude is like an entitled 16 year old rich kids who can't get what he wants.

The VAST majority of NFL players that have ever existed entered less then ideal situations. You either buckle it up and lead by example or you whine and mope and make faces on the sidelines. I have zero doubt Mac Jones thinks all his short comings is someone else's fault, and his teammates are beneath him.

He is not the first QB that thought they would be much better with a great line and Jerry Rice running patterns for him....like no s**t amigo....most QBs would be bad ass with great line play and Jerry Rice running patterns for you. In the mean time while your team tried to find those guys...you need to lead, suffer the short comings and hold the team together....not be a grade A jackass.

Mac Jones is a great reminder that there is a difference in between the Dion Sanders, Terrel Owens of the world and actual cancer. Dion was the best that there ever has been, and he had no pass rush. Did he throw his d-line under the bus when he got burned? No....he led by example rallied the team as best he can and they lost games.

Mac Jones might be ready for the NFL when he is 30....right now he is a man child.
LOL Mac Jones can't play like Brock_Star. His processing is horrific pre snap and post snap. He goes through reads and progressions like a snail. He makes bad decisions, throws late, throws across the field. He's not anywhere near the athlete running around buying time or scrambling for a 1st down. His mechanics and accuracy aren't in the same category. Get out of here with that garbage.

Mac Jones doing the Joe Burrow off the field, locker room swag. But you can't do Joe Burrow without talent, you're just a jerk if you ain't Joe Burrow.
