"But Mac is an old-school gym rat. We caught him a couple nights in the convention center studying tape after midnight, and the important thing is that carried over onto the field. He got on the field, he knew where to go with the ball and, most importantly, he put it where he needed to put it. I think those are the things that are going to make Mac a really good NFL starting quarterback."
Love hearing this. Type of stuff that will separate him at the next level.
Watching tape = gym rat
Dude looks like he never stepped into a gym
Well to be fair QBs don't have to have shredded abs to be good at throwing the ball. But yeah...there's a difference between grinding tape, working mechanics and being a gym rat.

.@AlabamaFTBL @MacJones_10 has everything it takes to be a starting QB in the #NFL. They still win Super Bowls from the pocket! Who else thinks so? #nfldraft #rolltide #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/RIxTkeDyw5

Wow, look at how well Mac Jones moves in that second clip. That's from 2019 vs Arkansas. I wonder if he was lighter/leaner than he was in 2020.
Going through his 2019 stuff just now, dude had some serious throws in 2019 that I forgot about.

calling it now. He's gonna need a OL like this in the NFL
Patriots Offensive Line:
— Brad Kelly (@BradKelly17) March 9, 2021
LT: Isaiah Wynn
LG: Michael Onwenu
OC: David Andrews (re-sign)
RG: Shaq Mason
RT: Trent Brown
Depth: Justin Herron, Yodny Cajuste
Could potentially re-sign: Jermaine Eluemunor
Marcus Cannon is expendable, could return with restructured contract

What's crazier is how Bama fans and CFB analysts were absolutely ripping Mac Jones when he had to take over for Tua. People were saying he was playing "scared" and that he was going to waste the superior talent around him. Instead, the kid got better and better.
This draft is giving me heartburn lol. All of the Top 5 QBs are great fits for this offense, not to mention other non-QB players like Slater, Ojulari, Vera-Tucker, and Surtain. I'd be happy with any one of them and would be thrilled if Mac fell to 12.
Only way the Niners can really screw this up is if we took Paye or Rousseau at 12.

I'm so tired of people who want a qb who spends all their time in the gym.
I want a smart qb, who is a leader and is accurate. I could care less if he can bench 225 25 times

No one wants a QB who spends all his time in a gym, it's just reasonable to question if you've spent any.
I want a QB who is smart, accurate and a leader, but I also want one who can access all areas of the field with his arm and even his legs, as that puts huge stress on the defense.

You NEED an OL like that if your plan is McCorkle.
What's funny is that OL group only has ONE top 100 pick out of the bunch
