Just compare the receivers between Lance's pro day and Jones... its comical. You get a better picture of Jones from the senior bowl practices compared to anything today.

Wait who were the amazing WRs at NDST's pro day vs Bama? Poor Mac didn't have Smith/Waddle at his pro day.

He'a not as accurate as I was expecting and the lack of overall velocity is apparent.

Are you watching it? Nothing about it was amazing. I can be objective about a player regardless if I like him or not.

Everyone picking on NY cause he ain't fapping over McCorkle? Lol, no worries bro I'm with you. Nothing pops for me either, he's just meh to me too. Yeah footwork is clean and he didn't look bad at all, but I want more than that.

Ohhh stop it braddah. The only reason why you guys no like Mac is bc you guys already settled with your QBs in Kapono(Wilson) and Lance for NY. But if you guys really looked at the big picture, Mac is not a bad prospect at all. He's a perfect fit for KS's system and can make all the throws, thats all that matters. NY just like Lance bc he missed on Mahomes and now make sure he'll never miss on another mobile QB prospect with similar skillset.

Nah that's not the only reason (yes Kapono is bae for me). I just don't see anything special with Mac and when taking a QB in the first, especially top half, I need someone more than "can make all the throws".

That's all I'm saying...I don't think he's trash or anything. I saw nothing special from that pro day.

But that shouldn't be a red flag, and he was throwing to FBs and TEs.

However, it's not like when Brady was throwing at the combine, scouts stopped and marveled. What you get with Mac, is hopefully the things that make Brady great, and that's his football IQ on the field, and really good accuracy.

Mac is never gonna throw like Pat or scramble like Watson. You hope that he will make up for not having those traits by being able to process things very quickly and a read defense very well and have great pocket presence. Those sort of things are way more important than having a great arm or 4.5 speed.

Gross

yeah, you stay put for Jones, you move up for Wilson or Fields. (imo)

Stuff like this scares me

https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/18/denver-broncos-will-draft-a-quarterback-if-the-right-one-falls-to-them/

The Denver Broncos are considering drafting a quarterback with the ninth overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Either that or the Broncos want other teams to believe they're considering drafting a QB at No. 9.

Broncos general manager George Paton attended Trey Lance's pro day and he will attend more quarterback pro days, according to NFL Network's James Palmer. Paton will go to "all of" the pro days, according to Palmer, including Alabama's, where Mac Jones will look to improve his draft stock.

"He told me, if the right quarterback falls to them at nine, and that's who they like, they're picking a quarterback," Palmer said.

That would be 5 teams picking before us that want a QB. Jags, Jets, Falcons, Panthers, and now Broncos. And don't sleep on the Giants either. If for some reason Fields falls to 11, they would have to strongly consider taking him at least.

This is why I've thought for awhile now that we are getting Mac, or we will have no choice but to move up if we want Fields or Lance. It's gonna be really hard seeing any of those two falling to 12.

I think one of Lance, Jones, and Fields MAY fall to 12. My guess is that 5 qb taken before 12.

You have eyes right? Compare them yourself. To say they were close to the same caliber or shape is being disingenuous lol.

Oh he's more than a "can make all the throws" guy for me. He has all the traits to be successful in the NFL minus arm strength. I wouldn't trade up for him, no way but if he's there at #12 and the Niners pick him, I wouldn't be surprised or upset.

Listen whatever with Brady. I could name a ton of guys with similar attributes that didn't turn into Brady.

He's not even gonna throw like Joe Burrow let alone Mahomes. I have different values I want in a QB if I'm spending a top 10 pick on him.

if I thought he had a special pro day I would have said that, didn't think he did. That's all.
If people are being objective, its pretty clear to anyone that Jones didn't hurt himself whatsoever and made some nice throws, especially on the move that will ease the concerns of some NFL teams. I certainly don't think he did anything to make a guy like Shanahan less willing to draft him.

Didn't change my option on velocity of his throws or throwing off structure.

That's fine, you've been passive aggressively bashing him for six months while pretending to maintain an open mind, why change now?

For the 49ers, he's the only qb they would think about taking early, outside of Lawrence of course.
He's the only one remotely ready to play for a competitive team between him, Fields, Wilson, and Lance. And that's what we are now, no time to develop.
At 12, youu either draft someone at a position ready to contribute now or go Mac, get rid of Jimmy and use that money to fill holes.

You really think that? Without bias? Couldn't disagree with you more. What does Mac do so well that those guys can't do? Especially Wilson, you really think they would take Mac over Wilson and Wilson isn't ready to run Shanahans system day 1?

Wilson is not an option. Move on it's not happening.

LOL WTF?! Coming in throwing bombs from right field. You even read what you quoted? Whether Wilson is an option or not is irrelevant, I only mentioned Wilson because he said Mac is the only QB we would think of taking early outside of Lawrence and specifically included Wilson as someone not remotely ready to play. We see on that one, guess what system the Jets will be running....

Steve Rubio was there. FYI, Rubio was one of the leading voices behind drafting McGlinchey. Dunno if that's a good thing or bad thing.

Passive aggressive or just thinking he's an okay not amazing talent. I can point out what he's good/bad it.

I'm surprised you're still a fan of him since everyone jumped on the bandwagon...that's usually not your thing, figured you'd be pumping up Mills/Mond more at this point
