Mac Jones-QB-Jaguars

LOL WTF?! Coming in throwing bombs from right field. You even read what you quoted? Whether Wilson is an option or not is irrelevant, I only mentioned Wilson because he said Mac is the only QB we would think of taking early outside of Lawrence and specifically included Wilson as someone not remotely ready to play. We see on that one, guess what system the Jets will be running....

Anyways this is the

thread. If you want to talk about the future New York Jets quarterback, there's a thread for that.

More is still to come. He said he's throwing 60 passes next week at Alabama's Second pro day.

But that shouldn't be a red flag, and he was throwing to FBs and TEs.

However, it's not like when Brady was throwing at the combine, scouts stopped and marveled. What you get with Mac, is hopefully the things that make Brady great, and that's his football IQ on the field, and really good accuracy.

Mac is never gonna throw like Pat or scramble like Watson. You hope that he will make up for not having those traits by being able to process things very quickly and a read defense very well and have great pocket presence. Those sort of things are way more important than having a great arm or 4.5 speed.

Listen whatever with Brady. I could name a ton of guys with similar attributes that didn't turn into Brady.

He's not even gonna throw like Joe Burrow let alone Mahomes. I have different values I want in a QB if I'm spending a top 10 pick on him.

if I thought he had a special pro day I would have said that, didn't think he did. That's all.

You definitely under estimate his arm though. It's really not as bad as you make it out, you make it sound like he's Shaun Hill lol.

Burrow's knock was also his arm strength, but yet he could still make all the deep throws and deep outs. During some of those games that I watched Burrow (i'm sure i even posted it in his thread) that he had some of the best pocket presence I've ever seen from a college QB. And I see a lot of the same similarities between Mac and Burrow.

And its not saying he will be Brady. People are comparing Zach Wilson to Russel Wilson because of the similarities of their game/size. Or Fields being compared to Watson. We've seen QBs with a great arm that can run, but still didn't turn work out. Which is not saying the comparison is not valid, because it could still be a fair comparison.

So if Mac is a being described as a QB with high football IQ, can read defenses very well, has good pocket presence / accuracy, a QB like Brady is gonna come to mind, especially when you look at their arm strength. So if we are allowed to say that Lance has similar attributes to Pat, it doesn't mean he will be Pat, but its still a fair comparison, but so should the Brady one then.

Steve Rubio was there. FYI, Rubio was one of the leading voices behind drafting McGlinchey. Dunno if that's a good thing or bad thing.

McGlinchey? Rubio will recommend us drafting Feleipe Franks.

Even DJ during Jones' pro day said he doesn't have the arm strength play making ability that Burrow has.

OR you could say Andy Dalton/Chad Pennington comes to mind. All the same attributes come out college.

That's fine, you've been passive aggressively bashing him for six months while pretending to maintain an open mind, why change now?

Couldn't you also say the same thing for Fields then? Or is his only comparison great QBs like Watson? Have we not seen other QBs in college who can run well and throw, but weren't that good at the next level? And I actually like Fields a lot (i just think he's gonna go to ATL).

I think so as well.
Best part? While looking better than Lance throwing, at the end of his session he is unhappy with how he performed.

Lance while missing throws was happy with his session.

Think about that for a minute.
Shanny is drooling 🤤
