Never said you couldn't say that about Fields or whomever isn't named Jones. There's certain attributes that can't be taught though. IMO understanding coverages/playbook is....Being able to make a free blitzer miss on a broken play and throwing it on a rope is god given ability. Forcing a team to have to run a certain coverage or having a zone read mean something is about the QBs ability outside of throwing the ball...all these kids can throw the ball. All these prospects can play in the pocket. Some are a little better right now, but as you've seen with a lot of these young QBs, they can absolutely learn to play within the pocket, coaching and the roster are very important. I think we have that in SF.

You need to find out if the prospect is smart enough and has the work ethic to learn the scheme you want to run. 3 yrs from now I can see Lance/Wilson/Fields playing at a higher level than Jones (if they go to the right team). It's all about long term investment for me.... Jones like a lot of Bama guys IMO are maxed out coming into the league good or bad as that might sound.

Lance while missing throws was happy with his session.

Think about that for a minute.

only he didn't look better. Lance also said he missed some throws and it wasn't perfect.

Dude why do you care so much about Lance in the Jones thread?

Yeah, I got a feeling NE jumps ahead of us and takes Jones.

Good, while we trade up higher for Lance or Fields

  1. So we going back to calling each other out?
  2. Lance and Jones only 2 to have pro days at this time. Lawrence not included. So his is only one I can compare him to.
  3. You mention Davis Mills 2 times. Joe Burrows 2 times. Jimmy G. 2 times Sam Darnold once since the conclusion of Jones' pro day. So I ask you, why do you care so much about them in the Jones thread?

Not trying to be a jerk, but that's kinda been you in this draft room about Mac. "oh he's a decent qb and i wouldn't hate it if we drafted him.....but his arm sucks, hes not mobile, hes a statue and runs like hes stuck in mud, and had his o-line/wrs save him and make him look good, and boohoo that he didnt have actual receivers helping in his pro day and caused him not to look special.......but yea, wouldnt be upset if we drafted him"

This has been your message about Mac lol

And for the record, I'm fine with Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance, Mac, Mills, and Trask because I feel like they are fits for this offense. Lawrence, Wilson, and Mac are more pro ready IMO, but Mills, Lance, Fields, and Trask should be targets as well.

You're the one throwing out Lance vs Jones in here lol we dam well know why too.

Burrow was literally brought up per name in his pro day. I made a joke about Mills with Phoenix, Jimmy G is OUR QB. Quit trying so hard dude.

You the one trying hard. Why you have umpteen people calling you out.. I've let you be for days. Just rolled my eyes and moved on. As I will continue to do after this post.
All I've been hearing so far from media places is that Jones had a great pro day.

Nah I never said I was all about drafting him, I said if he's the QB I will accept it and root for him. I don't think he's a top 12 caliber talent. That's hasn't change one bit.

Yes I said he great from the head up, he can process the field well and make the proper reads....I also said he has an avg to below avg arm, his athletic ability is below avg, & he can't make plays out of structure like the other prospects...plus he was surround by elite talent top to bottom every week.

That my friend is not being passive aggressive, it's calling it how I see it with McCorkle. Some of you clearly see it a different way, which is fine...no need to be upset or think I'm being PA because I'm not on board with him like some in here.

also unlike you am not on board with every QB in the draft....Just see it differently.

Also when you start a sentence with not trying be a jerk, then try to call me out on everything...that's being passive aggressive

Either way I'm fine with debate and talking about whatever.

Btw, I would prefer Fields. I'm just being realistic with who we can get. I definitely wasn't a Mac fan coming into this season, but I've seen enough overtime to like him as well.

Overall, I think all of these QBs have some things that make you worry a bit. I know some think that Lawrence is the second coming of Jesus, but I really don't think he's a perfect prospect either.
