Mac Jones-QB-Jaguars

We going after Jones. I don't want him but the only research we have is Kyle's history of QB preference.

1. He is in love with Kirk Cousins.
2. He NEVER wanted to draft RG3 who, at that time, was a gamebreaking prospect.
3. He holds his play design in such a high regard that he cannot stand it when the offense isn't executed as designed.
4. His offense has zero tolerance for ad-lib QBs.
5. He doesn't want to take a step back and have to teach a QB fundamental skills.
6. He needs a QB that can make an immediate impact because we ready for the SB run.

Before people freak out to much. Schefter has said 49ers are not locked into anyone they will spend the next month evaluating 3-4 QBs.

This actually makes more sense to me. We all know who the til guys are and who is gonna 1-2. Now they have a month to really do gin on their guy.

Yup. At first, I thought there was no way they were trading up for Mac Jones, but after taking some time to think about it, it makes sense. After all, most of us have been saying since the draft process began that we expect Kyle Shanahan to love Mac Jones. So why wouldn't he go all in on a guy that he believes is exactly what he wants?

And then there's the smoke coming from the people who are most connected to the organization(ie Chris Simms and Matt Maiocco). Hell is going to break loose on April 29 because it's Mac szn.

This. Maiocco is not a hot take kind of dude. When he says stuff, its usually because he has some deeper insight directly from within the organization and where the 49ers are sitting, if they have an affinity for Jones, there's no need to be super top secret, state secrets about it.
