It's funny how much Jones gets detracted from based on his supporting cast but then some one like Burrows who is very similar was a shoe in as QB1. Burrows also had the top WRs in the nation including the OROY, a great RB and O-line to boot. Speaking of supporting casts... all of the top 5 QBs played for great teams outside of the QB. For f*cks sake the offseason hype-child Lance played for an even more dominant version of Alabama in the FCS. But Jones is the only one getting the knock from it cause he isnt the sexiest pick but the most solid (outside of Lawrence).

And it's not like fields was throwing to D3 receivers with a crap oline. I do like fields tangibles better though.

The people on this website aren't the only ones who know about their relationship. Kyle would be doing a disservice not only to himself, but the franchise, if we was truly letting his buddy in on his intentions in the months leading up to the draft.
I think Simms may be aware of Shanahan's interests at a high level. I would be very surprised if Kyle is dropping names and draft slots. Pros know how to keep business and personal separated.
It's not leaking information. It's talking ball with your best friend that knows his s**t and that you trust not to leak anything.
Simms knew about the McGlinchey pick; Simms knew about the Aiyuk pick; Simms likely knows who Kyle wants in this draft.

Oh yeah Im saying all the QBs had great teams around them. 3 teams from the FBS playoffs, BYU who had maybe the best line in the nation and NDSU who is the FCS version of Bama with even more success.
It's just hypocritical to love all these other guys or someone like Burrows but then detract form Mac because he comes from Bama. I mean at this point it's more likely that LSU's Jefferson & Chase turn out to be a better receiving combo than Smith and Waddle but Burrows was still attributed with their success where as Jones gets graded down for it.

So you have BFF Simms saying one thing and Rosenfels saying different. Basically, no one knows s**t.
Lol this. You think Kyle is really telling people who he's going to draft?
I mean he supposedly told Simms about Aiyuk, so I really don't know what to believe right now. These next few weeks are going to be wild with new hot takes coming out every hour.
And McGlinchey.
Where did you guys hear this??

It's possible Kyle isn't entirely sure, but knows he wanta one of two or three.
Unlikely though, given the trade.

While I won't be surprised if jones is the guy, and for the record I think he's really undervalued in here, i don't think it's going to be him. Trading up here is the most aggressive I have ever seen from the niners in the last 15 years, I think cause of that were getting one of the more risky prospects like lance, fields, or Wilson if he is there. Jones is the prototype qb that we've seen in this system, but I think we're gonna stray a little more from that cause we need someone that is natural throwing off profile with all the rollout we want to incorporate.

I know he isn't the sexy pick and he played on a stacked team - but he also has beautiful footwork, very accurate, leader etc. he has a lot of great qualities. I wouldn't be upset at all if we selected him.
outside of Lawrence, I think he is the most pro ready. No way we trade JG to start guys like fields, Wilson, lance etc - those guys are talented but very raw.

Easy to have great footwork when you have a grade A+ OL, grade A+ receivers and always playing against inferior talent. I think Mac jones is worth a 1st but f**k no at 3
