We didn't have to move up this early this far out from the draft for this guy. We could have waited til draft day and moved to get him after Wilson and fields are taken and then we could've made the move and it would have been cheaper to do so on draft day

there were multiple teams trying to get ahead of ATL and that's because they were gonna take one of Lance or Fields. This is why we had to give so much.

this trade ain't about Mac especially three weeks out from the draft

agree! it is for Wilson, Lance or Fields. I am hoping for Lance!

I gotta be honest guys........I have a serious problem with drafting a QB who looks like he never managed to find the weight room on campus. Jones looks like he followed the Alex Moran workout program at Blue Mountain State.

was kind of wondering what kind of workout ethic he had since he always looks somewhat soft. Haven't seen a picture of him without a shirt on until here.

Jones's dui arrest a couple years back along with not being mobile and soft I think are the reasons why I just don't like him and worried about the 49ers picking him.

I've been watching a bunch of clips trying to catch up on all the QBs. For Mac, I think his pro day was the least impressive. Mac's game film is pretty good though. He has some real nice accuracy and made some terrific throws. His film for me is a little tough to evaluate though too just because of the talent around him.

I think it's an embarrassing body for a guy that's going to be a professional athlete. That said, if I had to choose, I'd take a QB that lives in his playbook and in the film room than one that obsesses in the weight room.

SOB... back to Jones again.

Thanks dude.

Honestly this doesn't bother me.
He finished his degree in 3 years and started a masters program and still was a film junkie.
From everything I've read he is very driven and competitive when he gets with the teams professional trainers and he only has to worry about football I think he'll be fine.
Ive been watching 2016 Matt Ryan Highlights to picture Mac Jones running our offense and can definitely see it working. Then I go back and watch Steve Young highlights from 1994 to picture Lance/Fields running our offense and see it working as well. I think they can go with any of the 3 and it will be successful. IMO I would go the Lance/ Fields route. Watching Young mastering this offense and adding to it with his mobility shows you how dangerous and unstoppable this offense can be. Envisioning Lance/Fields doing the same makes me lean towards them and gives us the best chance at winning more superbowls. My gut tells me Kyle, Lynch and Mike feel the same.

Ben Fennell brought this up as well...he's isn't this massive scheme fit that people keep portraying.

Totally agree our offense is at its best with a mobile QB. I think Walsh saw it too and thats why he moved on from Joe as hard as it was. The offense is limited with a non mobile QB.

The difference is Steve Young was a top level passer. He was actually great at the whole QBing thing. He was a good athelet and great QB. Fields and Lance are great athletes but they aren't there QBing wise. IMO.

Coming out of college they all may have been the same. And it took Steve Young how many years of sitting and the right system to get there?
Agreed with NY. Mac is the kind of QB you wait til draft day to pounce on if he was your pick. You don't move to the 3rd pick while giving up 2 extra 1sts. This is about Wilson or Fields.

Yeah. Kap was an Adonis. He spent his film study time in the weight room.

Young talks about how he didn't even know how to throw a football the right way when he was at BYU in the beginning... Jim McMahon had to show him how to properly throw a football.

go watch his plays at BYU it wasn't a bunch of in the pocket going through reads highlights. It was movement extending plays and using his arm talent to do s**t no one else could do.

Fields/Lance are a lot like Young was at BYU.
