Agreed with NY. Mac is the kind of QB you wait til draft day to pounce on if he was your pick. You don't move to the 3rd pick while giving up 2 extra 1sts. This is about Wilson or Fields.

But the fact that they were trying for #6, 5, 4 before landing on 3. Leads me to beleive that it's most likely Jones or Lance. They would have to assume Fields very likely wouldn't be there at 6. In fact the only one almost guaranteed to be there was Jones. With their attempt may have been with the intent of moving in front of CAR at #8. Seeing how Rhule apparently loved Jones at the senior bowl.

It also could have been them discussing trades not with the intent to trade now but on draft day. But when #3 presented itself it was might as well go all the way to 3 now because they are guarateed to get one of the two players (Wilson and Jones) they did extensive work on this year.

Without question. I won't be shocked if it's Lance either.
In fairness Brady had one of the most embarrassing bodies too. Pocket QB.

Ive been watching 2016 Matt Ryan Highlights to picture Mac Jones running our offense and can definitely see it working. Then I go back and watch Steve Young highlights from 1994 to picture Lance/Fields running our offense and see it working as well. I think they can go with any of the 3 and it will be successful. IMO I would go the Lance/ Fields route. Watching Young mastering this offense and adding to it with his mobility shows you how dangerous and unstoppable this offense can be. Envisioning Lance/Fields doing the same makes me lean towards them and gives us the best chance at winning more superbowls. My gut tells me Kyle, Lynch and Mike feel the same.

yeah, after having to deal with Russell Wilson and Kyler 4 times a year, and watching more dynamic QBs like Mahomes, Watson, and even Jackson... I believe Shanahan is really itching to get himself a two way threat and like a mad scientist is already devising how he can use a guy like that and how much better his offense would be.

They were gauging the top 5 picks (not top 6) and what it would cost...there wasn't a report saying they would have taken the 5th pick but more or less seeing the price and who was willing to move off their pick.

Coming out of college they all may have been the same. And it took Steve Young how many years of sitting and the right system to get there?

Young talks about how he didn't even know how to throw a football the right way when he was at BYU in the beginning... Jim McMahon had to show him how to properly throw a football.

go watch his plays at BYU it wasn't a bunch of in the pocket going through reads highlights. It was movement extending plays and using his arm talent to do s**t no one else could do.

Fields/Lance are a lot like Young was at BYU.

Agreed and I think there coming into a better situation than Young with Tampa. Lance is running the scheme already and I think Fields can pick up on it without a problem.

Yeah its gonna be scary good if either of them master it like Young. I think Mike Shanahan was like hey son remember that Steve Young guy I used to coach. He worked out pretty good for me right?

Fields runs and even throws the football a lot like young. They both run PA/boots like kyle needs a QB to do. Those are the foundations of his pass offense. Wilson does as well. Lawrence and Jones not so much.

Mike shanahan was front and center at the QB collective with Fields as well. Same with our HC, QB coach and OC.
So we went from Patrick Mahomes to Steve Young. But the Tom Brady and Joe Monatana comps....

Yeah they fit the profile of what he wants for his offense. He can finally get his guy for his offense.

Just said they both had poor bodies. That's not comparing them.

Writing is definitely on the wall IMO.

Brady has always been 6'5" though, how many pure pocket QB's outside of Drew Brees have thrived at 6'2"?

Also how many pocket QB's have shredded our D the last few years?

It's always the mobile guys that gives us trouble, the ones with the special arms and legs cause issues as they make you defend every blade of grass.
