I don't think that knowledge is lost on Kyle. He very well may take Jones. But if he's being this transparent and they're leaking this s**t to his buddies and Peter King... Kyle is just as bad as Jed circa early 2010s. He can't be this stupid.

Yeah. If Shanahan had already made up his mind, why would he go to any Pro Day? Everyone already knows who the first two picks are going to be. Is Shanahan trying to keep himself from knowing who he's gonna draft?

He went because he needed to see McCorkle up close — because he hasn't decided who he's picking yet.

The fact that he's even in question to be the pick is the problem. f**king gross.

also it is kinda a big deal if he goes, I don't think Kyle has been to a pro day outside of Stanford since being the HC here.

No question. His judgement on QBs is seriously questionable at this point. The fact that this is the first pro day that he's attended in a long time is scary.

Wow, I didn't know he never attended pro days before.

The webzone is going to its emotional safe space this month and convincing itself it will be Jones no matter what. So, whether it happens or not...this place is going to go ballistic.

I don't think many will disagree with you here. But, like 5_Golden_Rings points out, there is more to it than physical traits. Having the most physical tools is not (should not be) synonymous with having the highest ceiling.

Look, I don't want Jones at three. But, if he goes at three, I'm willing to wait and see what Kyle can do with him. In a few years we will see if your evaluation, re ceiling, is correct. I hope you and others singing the same tune are wrong if Jones becomes a 49er.

I hope that's true. I really don't think it makes much sense to trade all those picks for the lowest ceiling prospect. But Kyle's the genius, I'm just trying to figure out what the heck he's thinking

Yep, I'm trying to do the same. Its not easy trying to get into a football geniuses mind, though.😵

I predict that he'd win a Superbowl and everyone would be thrilled, and then we turn into the Eagles.

this is just like trading up and over drafting CJ, Joe Williams, Dante Pettis and drafting a punter in the 4th just on a much grander scale.

It would be an all time reach...like nothing we've seen in the draft.

I mean not only did he pass on Watson/Mahomes, he also passes on a opportunity to get Allen. Oh he said thanks but no thanks to Brady.

All just so he could spend 3 1sts rd picks on Mac freaking Jones lol? He's looking to commit job suicide if that goes down.
This thread is starting to feel the Mike McGlinchey thread in 2018 after Chris Simms said the 49ers would draft Mike McGlinchey. The entire thread became one giant meme after that until draft day.

Why are you saying this? The Jags are taking Lawrence and the jets are taking Wilson. You think Carolina is gonna jump up to two and steal Mac from us? Even if in an alternate universe that did happen we'd still end up with Wilson.

Peter King: saying Mac or Lance...

"Where Mac fits that offense perfectly is that Kyle will give him one or two clues about what the defense will do on a play, and the results will be top notch for Mac when he executes the play. He has Joe Burrow-type reading of the defense. Plus, other than Zach Wilson, Mac is the best bullseye-thrower in the draft." If not Jones, my best guess is Trey Lance

If Kyle makes him the guy, I'll have no choice but to root for him to succeed. Like I've said, Kyle is the genius, not me. But given the coaching, culture, and talent on this team, why go with the guy with the worst physical traits? It's more likely than the historical average that any of these QBs succeeds here because the foundation of this team is not your average team drafting in the top 5. So why not swing for the fences with the dude with crazy physical traits?

What makes you say he has the lowest ceiling? Most accurate passer in the draft as well as the best at going thru his progressions. The huge question is how will he play from under center.

My curiosity would be how strong Mac's arm really is. Sid Gillman always said a football travels faster through the air than on the ground. Next would be how quick is his release. The faster the better. Next would be accuracy. As far as I know Mac is supposedly off the charts in those areas. (I defer to the draft experts though).

I don't care who he picks. Jones is fine with me. Albeit, a little rich for me at 3. But I only care about production.

I'm saying that if it's true Kyle is leaking s**t to his friends or favorite writer...he risks making the Niners worse. Literally zero people benefit other than the media. Not the fans. Not Kyle. Not the franchise he runs. Not the players. It's the opposite of what a professional and good steward of the org would do. Again, i'm not saying he does this...only that, if he does, it's unbecoming.

Everybody took a s**t on Jed and Baalke when they did it...and they should have. But if Kyle does it...it's cute? Nah.

Like I said, I am not on the Jones train (at three). I agree with you. I am just preparing myself for what I believe is going to happen
