those open passing windows he got don't exist anymore. All the talk of being super accurate with great mechanics and high football IQ.... It's the same thing with Jones. Kyle Crabbs talks about it in that podcast I posted in here. Tua is a better talent overall then Jones and had the same luxury of playing in Bama.

Dude didn't have much of an offseason whatsoever. I think it makes sense to give him a little more time to show what he can do, especially being a year removed from his injury before closing the book on his career.
Every time I think about drafting Mac Jones at 3:

But then I put on the tape, and the dude is just balling in every freakin' game:

Tua never put up number like Jones did last year...in fact no quarterback has ever put up numbers like Jones did last year.

Hard not to have great statistical season when your entire skill position group is going in the 1st round of the NFL draft. Not his fault he had this roster, but put him on Notre Dame and what is his season like? He's in the Mond/ Davis discussion IMO.

Tua had more weapons. He also had injury concerns. He got outperforms this season by Mac. Tua went 6 overall. So how is Mac some huge reach? Lawrence teams have been stacked. So have Fields. No one seems to care with them.(btw I am high on fields.) The fact is Mac had great mechanics. He has great decision making and made
Accurate throws. He was consitntly great all season long.

If that's their guy, nothing I can do about it. It'll be their (Kyle/Lynch) undoing if they're wrong and franchise will be toast for quite a few years. I'll root for whoever they chose, but if Mayo Jones isn't the answer, I won't have much sympathy for Shanalynch. Also Tua and Lawrence performed multiple seasons at high level. Mac had one season.

Oh and there is this:

**--Smith, the Heisman winner, led the nation with 105 catches and 1,641 yards. Nobody else was close.

**--Running back Najee Harris (1,387 yards, 24 touchdowns) is going to be a star in the NFL. His leap over a Notre Dame defender in the Rose Bowl will be one of the ever-lasting images of the 2020 season.

**--The Joe Moore Award goes to the best offensive line in college football. Alabama won the award over Texas A&M and Notre Dame.

**--When the Associated Press All-America team was announced, Alabama had five—that's right five—players on the first-team offense: Jones, Smith, Harris, OT Alex Leatherwood, and center Landon Dickerson.

Bama overmatched everyone, not his fault. But they did.
Fair enough. I don't deny that Mac's roster was insanely stacked. I just think if the only fault people can find with his performance this past season is that his roster was amazing and he is not a running QB. Then the amount of hate he seems to be getting seems to be exssesive.

No one had a legit off season. Covid stopped everything. It wasn't just Tua.

im not closing the book I'm saying Tua was better prospect overall than Jones. Mac was on the bench for a reason. He will never have it easier then what he had it this yr. open WRs all damn yr, max protections, all pro RB, all pro OLs, easy reads 80% of the time etc etc. you throw Jones on a different team an no one is talking about him.

exactly! Like I said throw him on some mid level big10 school and no one gives a s**t about him.

Anyone thinking what he brings to the table are some unattainable traits that require 3 1st rd picks is only lying to themselves.

WHY you all stressin over MACK? Shanny and Lynch would really be asking for their exit tickets if the reason for giving two extra 1st rounders is Mack Jones..

if Wilson is gone, as much as i'd hate to see Fields, I believe that Shanny will take Fields.. but I'm hoping that Atlanta panics and move up to our spot while we take CHASE while trading for DARNOLD..

Then send Grappy and Deevah to Tampa Bay for their 1st rounder..

THE numbers that JONES put up last year, was that any harder than Colt Brennan's last year in Hawaii ??

Yeah, I'm stunned he's never been to a pro day outside of Santa Clara.

how you go check out Graham Harrell and Colt Brennan. They turned into stars lol... If AJ McCarron had as many passing attempts as Jones got he would have put up the same stats.

no one in college had more yards from open WRs then Jones (per PFF) he had 600 more yards than anyone else from screens.

tua had 4,000 yards on only 355 passing attempts the yr before he got hurt. He had more TDs than Jones as well that season.

Well one played in the SEC and won a national championship, the other played in the WAC.

What's also interesting is to say all that and bring in the opposite to be the QB of your team, not once but twice in Cam Newton lol

I think they are just doing their scouting first hand. That's the #3 pick that cost them 3 first rounders. It makes sense for them to be up front and personal with *all* three, and at some point they will be with all three, I would think, not just Mac. It may not be pro-day but maybe a lunch or dinner with the other QB prospects.
