Mac Jones-QB-Jaguars

This would be such a horrible horrible pick...you do realize this right? 3 1sts and a 3rd for Mac Jones. There is no justifiable reason to do that. none.

This. Peter King can kick rocks

I like Mac but don't love potential. Yea he ran a semi pro offense in the gun and pistol, but that's not what we run. I'd like him at 10 to 12. Not 3.
I'd like Fields or Lance to sit, even have a package early for them to change up in game pace during the season.

DJ knows. You're not beating Stafford or Rogers with Mac Jones' talent level.
Peters going to see Fields tomorrow.

Peters was also there to meet with Bosa

Yea, but Bosa was a defensive player. I can't imagine anyone's opinion ultimately mattering other than Shanahan's when it comes to the offense, especially the QB.

Kyle is a genius but he´s also a stubborn guy. I think he would rather win one superbowl with someone like Cousins than multiple ones with a Rodgers type of talent.
I don´t know him but he gives this vibe of "My system is the best. I can win with just good QBs not superstars.".
If Simms is tweeting this then it´s a done deal basically for Jones I guess. Ouch, I don´t know how to feel about this one.
Honestly might as well trade for Stafford who has a vastly superior arm talent.

You're not wrong. Shanahan would ultimately rather lose than win with someone who ever has the audacity or capability to go even slightly off script. It's sad that we all have to suffer due to him apparently loving his play design more than winning.

We could spin this 50 ways every hour for the next month lol sooo....

imo obviously they are giving Jones a serious look because he isn't terrible and is a first round talent.

I've said they probably like a couple of guys and aren't necessarily 100% locked in one one guy yet. Regardless, do your homework.

Peters is going to see Fields. He just got promoted. They value him in the organization. For all we know he was high on Mahomes or Watson etc and Kyle and or John were not.... maybe with that in mind Peters has the better eye for the mobile QB Kyle would normally ignore so they send him without any bias or pressure and he says- yes this could could crush it in your offense, or not. Again we could speculate all damn day.

I feel Ike with Jones wysiwyg. He'll do what's he's been doing and hopefully do it well at the next level. He reminds me of Garappolo lol. Fields is dynamic and you have to ask can you coach him for your system. If you believe you can than sky's the limit with the intangibles/athleticism he adds.

I don't believe this. Not the second sentence at least. I believe he has a bit of tunnel vision tho. I think he admits to his own mistakes. He's not stupid. He works with what he has. Which is why to me he needs to go more athletic and break the damn kid down and build him back up!
I was unaware of the DUI's in regards to Jones. That is definitely a major red flag for me. I understand people make mistakes but it is troubling for multiple reasons:

1. It has happened twice.
2. The QB position is the last one that you want to be evaluating/weighing character concerns.
3. The fact that he may actually have a drinking problem. He has a soft body as it is. I doubt he sits around and eats sweets all day. It very well could be the result of heavy drinking.

I love him as a prospect but those questions definitely make you think about his grade. I don't know if I'm comfortable taking him in the first unless the drinking concerns can be answered.

The ego as far as I am concerned will be all but confirmed if Mac Jones is the pick.

For people who say pocket passing still works because Brady won the SB. Well Jones better play like a Brady then. Thats the expectation with him. Anything less, and I don't see us winning a Lombardi in the next decade

I want to be wrong about it, but I don't know how else you explain his apparent aversion to elite talent at the QB position.
The pick will be Fields if Wilson is going #2. The Mac Jones visit is exactly what it is, a visit. Shanahan has already had his fair opportunities with Fields at the QB Collective. He knows what he needs to know.
