that's what an OC does, not a HC. let's be real.

Why in the hell would Kyle share any info with Chris Simms regarding the draft. They are close friends but I will bet my left nut they do not share pre-draft player evaluations. Chris loves Mac Jones and has him as his 3rd rated QB. That is his personal opinion and just like last year (Simms didn't even have Aiyuk on his top 5) Kyle went with his guy; Aiyuk. Not the player(s) that Simms told him he would think would be the best.

All of this noise is just speculation.

I think it's just Chris knows Kyle so well is why he always seems to know who we're drafting. I know my best friend usually knows what I'm thinking without me having to say s**t.

Sure, he knows him well, but he isn't in his mind and the rest of our evaluator's minds. If he read his mind and knew what he was thinking, then why didn't he anticipate Kyle going after Aiyuk last year? Chris even said, after the draft last year, Kyle would have taken Aiyuk at 13.

its not direct info about who he'll choose

its convos hes had with kyle throughout his life. he said he doesn't know, but hes basing it on what kyle prefers.

It's pretty normal for GMs to have the final say on personnel. Not all great coaches are great at player evaluation.

He came out and said that he knew Kyle badly wanted Aiyuk and had compared him to Isaac Bruce so he kept him out of his rankings to not to tip off other teams.

No doubt in my mind that Kyle will win a Superbowl, but whether its with us, IDK.

its pretty normal for the gm and hc to actually work together, seeing as how its the hc who installs specific systems.
If Lance is the pick, why would they draft a qb at 3 with all those trades this year f Jimmy G will.play at least 1 more year? If they had #3 to begin with maybe, but no. Still between Jones and Fields who will start 2021, unless Lynch is a magician and trades up to 2, which I doubt the Jets will do. The 49ers have a less than month to decide between Jones and Fields.
Kyle and Lynch have done a good job of keeping things quiet so far thus year. This trade came out of nowhere. Why would they suddenly show their hand and let everyone know who they are picking. The visit to Alabama could be a bluff or maybe they're just checking other Bama players. I'm still ot sure they're done trading. I could see a trade back if they want Jones and are confident he will be there between 5-10. Pick up a couple of 2nd rounders or a 2nd and 3rd for moving back from someone that wants whoever is available at 3. I find it hard to believe they like Jones so much that they think they needed to give up 2 first rounders for him.

How does that refute what I'm saying? Just because he's not in charge of personnel doesn't mean the GM wouldn't get his input on decisions. In an ideal setup, he tells the GM what he's looking for and then the GM finds the players that fit that profile.

Well if he thinks Mac is the second comming of the GOAT, he'll think 2 first rounders is a bargain.
You know, I wouldn't hate it if Jones was tbe pick, but I would hate the fact that we gave up so much capital to get him when we could have moved up draft day to that 7-10 range and probably landed him for far less. I'm ready to roll with whoever the pick is, just hope and pray its the next guy to win us a Super Bowl (or 4).

Hard to believe indeed but you see what happened, the Daniel Jones pick and RG3, some massive reaches have happened in the past. We can just cross fingers the 49ers are not the next to do the mistake

This could make sense as a John Lynch move if they want to recoup some of the loss of not being able to trade to #5 initially for Jones.
