He said Lance is the Niner's legit target not Mac or Fields. They don't want ATL leaping them, even if it's a small possibility... plus there no reason for them to deny anything about Mac right now it just muddies up the water for teams below them.

Sweet baby Jesus I hope he's right.

That's in line with kinda what Allbright been saying and ATL apparently is in LOVE with Lance and we're going to take him. That would make sense for the move to 3 to get in front of them
Hope it's Lance
I've seen several predictions that have the Niners taking Lance, Fields and Jones. I've never seen so much disagreement over one position. It tells me nobody has any real idea who they want. If for some reason, the Jets surprised and passed on Wilson, that would confuse things even more.
I personally think they moved up for Lance.

Fields Wilson and Lawrence are basically off the board after 1-4 and we wanted the last QB with a high ceiling.

Think we ended up at #3 because it was the best value in a trade.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a slight trade down to give another team a shot at QB Fields or OT Sewell and we ease back to 5 or 6 range before picking

I am like everyone else having a hard time seeing Mac Jones as worth such a big trade up. Then again KS and JL have shown multiple times they will over pay for KS to get his guy

I don´t hate Mac Jones, I think he had a great season with Alabama.
But trading the first round in 2022 AND 2023 for him is way too much.
Why they don´t wait until the day of the draft to make a deal? Don´t tell me they were so affraid of Carolina, they had to make this deal with Miami? It would be madness.^^
I can´t imagine Lynch being on board with this after saying publicly that he made a gigantic mistake by not drafting Mahomes and trusting his guts after his pro day.

Looking at the teams ahead of SF at #12, the only one willing to trade was Miami. All the others also wanted a QB or had their QB and wanted a specific pick that would not be there at 12. So, yes, I will tell you they were afraid of Carolina. Bridgewater was abysmal last season. No way they start the season without a new QB in the room.

I hope that's the case.

I know right!

Just as a heads up, I'm going to start deleting anything that doesn't explicitly have to do with Mac Jones as a player.

If you guys want to push other players, random conspiracy theories or general complaints about Shanahan, Lynch, Goodell, the number 4, whatever it might be, it doesn't belong in here. There's plenty of other threads for it including a general discussion of the #3 pick in NT.

This thread has gotten way off track as it is, time to reel things back a bit.

Yup Albright said you're gonna have to move top 3 to get Lance right after his pro day....I mean if Simms is smoking up the place to help Kyle that's fine by me.

ATL might have to make a stupid offer to get above SF and the Jet would either have to be cool with Fields/Jones or Sam/Sewell and a bunch of picks....wouldn't be the most shocking thing in the world.

I'm gonna hold out hope lol
Mac Jones question: does the relationship between Shanahan and Saban make a difference here? Given how reportedly sore Shanny and Lynch were about Reuben Foster, and the fact that Mac's 4-years-ago DUI seems to be the closest thing to a character concern among the top QBs...is it reasonable to ask? If they don't trust Saban and they want answers

Sure, he knows him well, but he isn't in his mind and the rest of our evaluator's minds. If he read his mind and knew what he was thinking, then why didn't he anticipate Kyle going after Aiyuk last year? Chris even said, after the draft last year, Kyle would have taken Aiyuk at 13.

He came out and said that he knew Kyle badly wanted Aiyuk and had compared him to Isaac Bruce so he kept him out of his rankings to not to tip off other teams.

So he knew all about it, but kept it super secret until after the pick was made and THEN told everyone he'd known it all along.....

Want to buy a bridge?
How do you react when Mac Jones wishes he had is heisman trophy receiver or Waddle catching balls for him on first pro day?

If that was the case why have the Eagles now traded from #6 to #12?

Because we started a chain reaction

MIA wasn't going QB at 3 so PHI was hanging around to trade up

We took their hopes away so they traded down
Shanny confirms he will be attending Alabama's 2nd pro day.

"now that we've moved up to 3, we don't have to hide as much"

LOL I'm sorry, guys.
