Obligatory side note about Jones:

Very accurate at all three levels, elite touch, elite mental traits.

What exactly are his elite mental traits that the other two QBs don't have in your opinion?

Per Pro Football Focus

Jones is the wild card of the quarterback class. He produced out-of-this-world stats that hold up
to Joe Burrow's from a season ago, which will make many ask why he's not getting the same level of
hype. The answer is that even though Burrow's team was loaded with NFL talent, Jones' situation
was still far more favorable. The Bama quarterback completed 44 passes into tight windows all
season compared to 124 from Burrow in 2019. Jones still showed tremendous command of the
Tide's offense and also displayed good accuracy, but his job will get way harder next season

NFL comparison: Derek Carr

PROS
-Operated one of the most dominant offenses in
college football history
-Veteran understanding of the offense. The timing
of his throws was meticulous.
-Doesn't miss underneath. The most accurate QB
in the nation within 10 yards.
-Calm in pocket under pressure. Four career TWPs
on 131 pressured dropbacks.

CONS
-Middling arm. Underthrew a number of deep balls
but got away with it because of his WRs.
-600 more yards than anyone in the country to
open receivers. Offense made it easy.
-Offers almost nothing as a runner or outside of
structure.
-One year of elite play as a senior

PROJECTION : 1-2 RD

I do think it reflects a certain level of work ethic if you go out and finish a Master's degree by 22 while being the starting QB for a national championship team. Hard to disparage that level of dedication.

Shirtless photo that contradicts a work ethic in 3....2.....

But he can't find time to make his way to the gym when he's the starting QB on arguably the highest profile college football team in the country?

If he didn't find time for the gym, how is not sucking wind in the second half of games?

More cushion for the punishment.
Mac is nothing special. Kirk Cousins isn't special. Eli Manning isn't special. Don't want this clown

Good question. He was looking pretty gassed at his pro day.

He ran for a total of 14 yards last year . Hard to suck wind from that

NC, watch this one. This dude is the best QB evaluator on the Internet that I've found. He's a former NFL QB and current QB coach.

Watch that throw at the 29min mark

Yet people want to question his arm strength and say he can't make spectacular off platform throws. There is tons of clips of him doing it when he needs to, he just didn't have to do it much in Bama's offense.

I know Shanny is seeing a younger more disciplined Matt Ryan, who also just happened to go 3rd overall too.

I feel like the ones saying theyll jump off a bridge if kyle drafts him, haven't actually looked at his tape
That's usually the case, unfortunately.

You should look up shirtless photo's of Ben Rothlisburger, Payton Manning and we all know how ripped Tom Brady was as a draft prospect....

We're talking about QB's here...not DE's or LB's.

Does he need to improve his conditioning? Definitely. Is his game going to really benefit from him deadlifting 400 pounds and benching 325? f**k no. Its just a convenient thing people like to attack him on.

For a QB like Jones I'd much rather he spend his time working on his mechanics, honing his footwork and studying film. Clearly he's put the work in to understand the offense at the highest levels if they're having him tutor BOB on it.

Wrong Manning bro to bring up. This is the bro who T bagged a massage chick before Deshaun made it cool

There's a difference between just not being ripped and being fat. Also, Tom Brady is a terrible example because as a pro he's basically only consumed avocado shakes in between his daily injections of tiger blood. He's someone that has carefully taken care of his body his entire career and it has paid off. Almost no games lost to injury and he's still playing at a high level at 43.

No, it shows how terrible Jimmy is at the deep ball. Most competent quarterbacks make those throws. Why do you think we never take deep shots with him? Even when we had Goodwin we just wouldn't do it.

Deep passes are always tight windows because being off a couple of degrees at launch point result in a further distance from the intended target than a pass much shorter with the same degrees of initial inaccuracy. Think of sunlight flux. Same concept. The further away you are, the further apart field lines are.

If someone is accurate on deep passes it is because they are accurate on deep passes.

LOL, ya I understand deep passes are harder. Doesn't mean Jimmy isn't terrible at them compared to other QB.
