It's not one or the other though. Being in shape is the bare minimum a player should do. Compared to mastering all of the other stuff, it's easy and any high level player should be trying to maximize every thing they can.

Dude looks like this:

People talk about him like he looks like this:

I've seen the picture of him with his shirt off. He might be working hard now that the draft is approaching, but will he still be in shape when training camp comes around?

Now that football is his full-time job that pays him millions of dollars and he's going to be the face of a franchise, my guess is he'll continue being a great leader and teammate and not show up to camp out of shape.

It's not like he was playing his college ball at Greendale Community College. He was at playing at Alabama, arguably the highest profile football school in the country. If he can't dedicate himself fully while there, I don't know if it'll be much different in the pros.

I doubt Kyle will be as concerned with this as some of you.

Kyle wasn't concerned about the red flags with Reuben Foster either. Maybe he should have been.

The DUIs, the work ethic concerns... he could easily end up being Foster 2.0. And we know from experience that if he does have character concerns that the Alabama coaches won't be honest about that.

I tried to tell my friend today, bro I think there's a decent shot it's gonna be Mac so you might as well check out some breakdowns, he's better than you think.

my friend: "f**k Mac Jones! Put money on it right now!"

I'm like, bro I'm not trying to prove you wrong, just trying to get you to prepare yourself so you're not all pissed off in a month

...should I take his money though? Lol

Didn't they win the national title with him completing 77% of his passes?

Does a QB win football games by having the best body? Is there some swimsuit contest I'm not aware of.

Here's my processing as the Bama QB,: "I have the two best WRs in the nation and the number 1 RB, I think I'm going to get it to one of those guys."

I don't understand the argument here.....is it that you can only properly evaluate talent if you happened to be a great player yourself?

So if Rathof44 doesnt like MAc Jones he must be elite

I heard Rathof44 didnt even make it to college let alone NFL as a QB

Bitter much?

If you're going to trust a QB analysis, Simms is one of the best. If you're going to trust a DB evaluation, Crocker is that guy. Better analysts than players. Knowing your s**t doesn't always equate to being able to do it at a professional level.

Maybe you have a refute as to your expertise to counter.

We'll wait.

You can't be a great QB without being a gym rat, it's science. That's why these guys all will go down as all time greats.

One thing I love about Mac Jones is he possesses all the traits that is hardest to teach in the NFL that makes a great QB. I get the low upside arguement and thats why i might perfer Lance over him but

if you have elite pocket presence, pre/post snap reads, ball placement/accuracy honestly there is no ceiling to your play

You CLEARLY haven't watched any tape then.

Everyone will just discredit this because it's Simms... unless he glowing about someone they like.

He's 100% correct though. I don't know how anyone goes nuts for Burrow's, but downplays Mac Jones performance. Maybe I'm nuts, but the only thing Burrows does better is scramble around and extend plays. Jones is more accurate, better touch, better anticipation, processes things faster, and they have similar arm strength. If Trevor Lawrence wasn't hyped since highschool as the next great, I bet more people wouldn't have ignored Jones for most of the season. People are just finally waking up and noticing him after he outplayed another media darling in Fields.

Yep. That's it. Pretty weak, right?
