Patrick mahomes has the best supporting cast in football and he's been crowned as the GOAT.

I don't know if jones will be an elite player or not but I cannot blame him for utilizing his weapons to the best of his ability.

I would be much happier with jones as my qb compared to lance or fields.

But this o line still needs to be upgraded drastically.

You CLEARLY haven't watched any tape then.

So you're saying his WR aren't consistently much more open then they will be on the NFL? Windows will be the same? I watch a guy who has elite offensive weapons, throw from mostly a clean pocket to WR who have crazy separation, while working behind the best OL in college football (voted so, by the way). Not too mention the best RB in college. Color me skeptical that Davis Mills wouldn't put up similar numbers in same situation.

Being an Alabama fan, this is what sold me on him over Bryce Young very early in the season. He does things that you see pro QB's struggle with. The guy only had a few starts under his belt and was already freezing defenders with eye manipulation and subtle body movements. Then the ball placement is just ELITE. Everyone talks about guys running open, but ignore him hitting them in stride or knowing when to take something off a pass to float it past a defender, but allows his target to catch it in stride. People criticized him for playing in a QB friendly offense, yet ignore Jimmy does too and we can't even run screens a lot with him because he's not good at throwing them on target.

How'd that work out for him?

He took a team to the Super Bowl and two NFC championship games (and was actually the reason they got there, not a Jimmy) and has the 49ers best road playoff game win percentage. He's not doing that if he weighed 270 like Mac.

There's no trade off to being in shape for these guys. It's about maximizing every bit of potential you have and it's concerning when a player doesn't try to do that.
