QBs get pushed up regardless. Look at Daniel Jones. If SF wants him it's gonna be their first rd pick. You can't wait on a QB you're planning on being the FQB

This is what I've been saying... aside from injury he's a top half lock due to the amount of teams needing a QB

BUT this should not apply on a QB that the team listed as a 2nd rounder.. can you really imagine reaching 17 spot earlier just to draft a QB?

We'll see what happens after the college football playoffs. Mac Jones and even Kyle Trask could see their stocks rise and rise with their performances in the upcoming games.

For now, a trade up back into the 1st for Mac is my ideal situation.

20. Minnesota Vikings (6-6)
21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)
22. Miami Dolphins (8-4)
23. Indianapolis Colts (8-4)
24. Tennessee Titans (8-4)
25. New York Jets (from Seattle Seahawks, 8-4)
26. Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams, 8-4)
27. Cleveland Browns (9-3)
28. Buffalo Bills (9-3)
29. Green Bay Packers (9-3)
30. Kansas City Chiefs (11-1)
31. New Orleans Saints (10-2)
32. Pittsburgh Steelers (11-1)

... the idea of trading back to the 1st round or early second will not get us either Mac or Trask even IF they are to go in the 1st round... Look at the teams in BOLD, all of them will be looking to draft a QB..

While Tennessee and the Saints have Tanney and Hill, I still would not be surprise if they draft one.

Also, if the Steelers win it this year, BEN retires !!!

I REALLY REALLY wanted to argue with you, but you're right. The rush on QBs this upcoming draft is going to be so real. It's going to force a lot of talent down in the draft because of it.

WHY would you argue w/me when those who tried ended up the losing end !!

NEXT thing I know, they " LOVE TO HATE ME !!! "

Do not draft a QB until that OL is fixed. People forget what happened to Andrew Luck and Joe Burrow?
Deshaun Watson has been beaten like a pinata since he got drafted.
Keep Williams and Laken, draft a new Center and keep building that unit. A rookie QB would be pummeled behind this OL
I like this dude. Good decisions and solid from the pocket, but how is he on bootlegs?

BUT fixing the OL is easier than drafting a QB that you feel is the next FACE of the franchise..

the David Carr and the David Klinger situation was the worst I ever saw... two good young QBs that was not taken care of their franchise.

as for Luck - Watson, they did drafted some OLs to take care of their guys, it just didn't work out.. also, didn't Houston traded for TUNSIL ?

I think we can do both if we play our cards right.

That makes sense and would be the logical thing to do. Unfortunately, teams fall in love with QBs and are afraid of missing out so they draft them instead of building the line. I get what you're saying. You can put an average QB behind a great line and he can be successful. Put a great QB behind a terrible line and he can struggle.

THE question here is, HOW & WHEN do you know that your OL is finally built ???

we ONCE had the best OL in football and we didn't want to keep them by paying them top dollar..
There is a lot of value in the interior offensive line in the upcoming draft. Guys like Trey Smith, Deonte Brown, Zion Johnson, Drake Jackson, Tommy Kraemer, Cade Mays, Alec Lindstrom could all be available between the 2nd-4th rounds.

If we can somehow come out of this draft with Mac Jones, Alec Lindstrom, and Drake Jackson and have them go along with Trent Williams, Laken Tomlinson, and McG, I think our whole offense is so much more improved (pending injury).

Don't disregard that the current group could all be better next year. If nothing else, they are getting experience that could come in handy as a backup in the rotation. They will also get a training camp (hopefully) which they didn't have this year. That could have made a difference when you consider that their leader (Staley) retired and was replaced by Williams. They never really had a chance to work together and that's an important thing with an O line.

I'd take a chance on jumping back in the 1st round by trading Glynch and a 4th and draft the OT kid from Vtech... HE GOOD !!!

Absolutely! I see Jones going before Trask and Trask will also be a 1st... 6QB's in the first round this year. Teams in the teens will get some good players who don't need a QB.
