Kyle prefers a pocket QB over a runner. He's not going to draft a project at #3. Whoever he drafts, we know that one of these two things will happen.
1. Drafts Mac = Jimmy traded.
2. Drafts someone else = Jimmy stays.

This pass, which is now my default gif when people say he can't make highly difficult throws, shows that he can fit the ball into extremely tight windows.
In what world is that pass not going to be catchable regardless of how close the DB is covering him? There are two players there in that zone. The pass wouldn't have been more accurate if he ran over there and handed it to him.
Just because he didn't have to do it as much doesn't mean he can't.
Moreover, sometimes QBs miss tight window throws because they should have thrown it elsewhere. For example:
This pass should have gone to the guy running the drag. That guy would still be running.
The point is not to slam Lance here. The point is that sometimes a pass is into a tight window because the QB errs.
lol Jones' WR had his man beat with like two yards of space...oh yes cherry pick a bad throw of Lance like that's all he does.
I can throw bad throw clips from Jones and stupid throws from Lance all the same.
if we're splitting hairs.

Are those analysts wrong or is everyone out there saying he's a perfect fit/Shanahan prototype just ignoring that? Sounds like a deal breaker to me.
The big media analysts just see "heady" white in the pocket non athleticQB that comps to Kirk and assume that must be who he likes... from a schematic standpoint and what Jones was good/bad at, he doesn't fit more compared to Wilson/Lance/fields.

Sometimes a team goes to a player's pro day to confirm why they still shouldn't draft him. Maybe we going to Jones' pro day to make sure he's not our guy.

If it was Lance/fields that made that play that's exactly what some people would say, that don't want him lol.

I'm worried about the zip on his throws. I haven't seen any analysis of his velocity. Release seems quick...
Hanging a ball up there a tad too long is going to lead to INTs. I don't think he's like a Brock Osweiler with slow-as-molasses release and loopy passes, but arm strength factors into almost all the top end qbs in the league.
One of the criticisms of his is that his talented receiver core leads to him throwing to wide open players, competing against overmatched backfields.
I guarantee Shanny doesn't gaf about this, he schemes a ton of our players wide open, he just wants someone who can identify and hit the target every time.
Maybe Jones does make sense.

bit weird to criticize a qb for taking advantage of using his weapons
Not at all. When you clearly have the best weapons/players in college football around you and are throwing to receivers that have 5+ yards separation it's completely fair to ask if he could make those same plays in the NFL where that kind of separation happens very rarely.
Then one would then watch the film.

lol You're just proving my point. Literally, you just asked me if a throw would translate to the pros...
If you can go through film and look at a throw, then ask if it this will transition to the NFL. Then someone can also look at film and find plays that show the opposite. And as I said, it is fair to ask the question either way. In fact, that is what every scout on every team is doing before the draft. Asking if a players college performance will translate to the pro.
I think you're confusing my point with me not liking Mac Jones.

Lol @ people looking for clues in pro day attendance AFTER the trade.
They don't need to hide it anymore...ShanaLynch instantly go to Mac Jones' pro day.
then why did they talk to Fields agent about setting up another pro day for Kyle to attend?
Kyle Shanahan said Justin Fields' agent said that Fields — like Mac Jones — will have a second pro day and that Shanahan will have an opportunity to see him there.

Why is SF trying to get Lance to have another pro day to see Lance again?
Some of you have asked whether North Dakota State's Trey Lance also would have a second pro day: The #49ers are trying to set that up. https://t.co/PSpPotHSwP

why has Albright said that in order to draft Lance you're gonna have to move to 3?
Due diligence. But you don't move up that far unless you've already got your guy locked in.
You think it's Lance?

You listen to the presser? Sounds to me like he does value arm talent and athletic ability without question.
boy if you get a min just watch Jones' pro day then put on Lance's pro day...the arm talent isn't in the same planet.

No kidding.
Just watching Jones film next to Fields and Lance, it is stark how less talented he is compared to them.

If you get a chance listen to that full press conference yesterday...nothing from that presser screamer Mac Jones at all.
Feels more like Fields then anyone imo. Lance runs a ton of the same stuff though.
I do feel more confident that it's not Jones though.
