He doesn't want a QB at all, he wants to be the QB or at least be as close to it as possible. Any deviation from his play is unacceptable no matter what. Just more fuel for the fire that is the growing consensus that Shanahan would rather lose with a Mac Jones type as his QB than win with a more dynamic QB.

I rarely watch full college games, but I do watch the highlights come draft time. There is nothing about the tape I've seen that says Mac Jones is elite and is worth being drafted #3.
