According to him graham Harrell, Luke Falk, and Colt Brennan are the best QBs in football...I mean look at the stats!

He is shaking his head wondering how we could trade up to 3 for that
Fields time. f**k this thread.
I really like Jones as a prospect but with Shanahan being there at his pro day rather than OSU's just screams smokescreen to me. The game of chess ain't over until draft day.

i feel people are taking crazy pills trying to convince themselves mac is worth the #3 pick. it will be an absolute disaster for our franchise

Garoppolo was pretty mobile before the ACL. I´m not sure Mac Jones is on that level either.

Not even close...Jimmy can make throws from all different platforms as well. Jones is not even that talented as a thrower.

If you just watch Jones' pro day then watch Lance's right after, it's night in day in regards to arm talent. Mac Jones looks like my old HC buddy that played QB lol. Nothing special at all.

And if you watch GAME tape of both of them, you see that Jimmy is elite in a fifteen yard window and below average deep and outside the numbers. Jones, on the other hand -- PER THE TAPE -- is much better overall.
Lol Kyle's seen this show before

For me it's Klingler and Ware. Legend.

I didnt watch the Pro Days today but I just want the Niners offense to go to a new level. Jones wont do that in my opinion. I believe Fields has the potential for that which is why he would be my choice. Swing for the fences!

This is the key. This high in the draft - you go for that.

Mac Jones can probably come in and in Yr. 2 - he's a slightly better version of Jimmy. That's pretty good QB but not gonna be near the best QBs in the league. Fields has potential to be top 3 QB in the league.

Can I get the WR separation on those throws please?

bit weird to criticize a qb for taking advantage of using his weapons

Not at all. When you clearly have the best weapons/players in college football around you and are throwing to receivers that have 5+ yards separation it's completely fair to ask if he could make those same plays in the NFL where that kind of separation happens very rarely.

Then one would then watch the film.

This pass, which is now my default gif when people say he can't make highly difficult throws, shows that he can fit the ball into extremely tight windows.

In what world is that pass not going to be catchable regardless of how close the DB is covering him? There are two players there in that zone. The pass wouldn't have been more accurate if he ran over there and handed it to him.

Just because he didn't have to do it as much doesn't mean he can't.

Moreover, sometimes QBs miss tight window throws because they should have thrown it elsewhere. For example:

This pass should have gone to the guy running the drag. That guy would still be running.

The point is not to slam Lance here. The point is that sometimes a pass is into a tight window because the QB errs.

Hell of a catch #6 Smith. Maybe 20% WRs make that catch twisting their body. As tight as that throw maybe, equal if not better reception. Looks at #6 the whole time.

God you people will do ANYTHING to minimize Jones' skill. Wishful thinking does not make him worse than he is.

And most number 1's in the NFL can make that catch.

Shanahan is intrigued. He's going to pick one of these three, and it might be Jones. And if it's Jones it's because he is elite at executing the play's design. But none of them are scrubs.

The argument isn't Jones is worth #3

The position is we understand why KS would make the call.

If Jones is our actual target I hope we see mini trade downs to pick up 2nd or 3rd rounders
