Throwing to an empty field doesn't showcase what Jones is good at anyway.
As for the other two, the biggest clue is that they are going to keep Jimmy, and have every intention of him being the starter. That may not necessarily prove anything, but if you're taking Lance or Fields (especially Lance), you want Jimmy playing in 2021.

If you're a fan of the #49ers, I would think you trust Kyle Shanahan has a better idea of the kind of quarterback he wants to run his system than anyone else — and that includes you and me.

He did fine. Some people just grade him on a much higher curve than other quarterbacks. Both Wilson and Lance missed several throws in their workouts but that's acceptable since they fit the QB mold of what some are looking for so it's not an issue.
Jones doesn't have the tangible gifts that those guys do, so it's incumbent on him to show why he should be taken over them anyways. Therefore he needs to be held to a much higher standard to justify taking him.

Yes, it does not take an expert evaluator to see how much less dynamic he is and how a ball looks coming out of their hands.
He's a fine prospect he just lacks some elite traits and at #3 after giving up what we did I don't think that fast processing speed and above average football IQ justifies the cost.

Guys like Hoyer, Beathard, Mullens, Jimmy, and now Jones? I'm not sure Shanahan is able to pick the guy best suited for his system.

I like Matt but how can you say this when Kyle was basically sleeping in 2017 when Mahomes AND Watson were there to be drafted.
I know the Cousins thing but still. And his father wanted Matt Leinart back in the day right?
So no, Kyle is an offensive genius but even him can make mistakes. Hopefully that won´t happen this year when we put 3 first rounders on the table!!!!

None of those guys you mentioned were top 5 prospects coming out of college at the time.

A higher standard on an empty field?
His lauded for his ability to diagnose stuff pre/post snap and his ability to command an offense, not showing off his arm talent with no defenders around. The tape shows he's extremely accurate with solid arm strength, so a few bad throws today isn't going to change execs minds about him. These silly takes are the same garbage that get posters going crazy over a 40 time. I really can't believe fans put so much stock into pro days over film itself.
