Looks like a he took a big s**t like I wanted him to
How you gonna put that much air on your throws and still overthrow a receiver?

Is the mind an elite tool? Something only Kyle is privy too when scouting all these QB's. I could care less if my QB ran 4.3. Can he run the offense? That's the question.

JT O'Sullivan knew how to read defenses and where to go, he just didn't have the tools to get it done. Give me the tools and I'll make the offense fit.

JT O'Sullivan was awful as a pro. No arm and he was awful at reading D's. He washed out of the NFL with a 56% completion percentage with a low of 36.4% his final season on his way out of the league.

Travel back in time to 2008 and read on how Nolan and Martz talked about how he had such "command of the offense." yada yada yada.

He failed because he couldn't do the job with the physical tools he had.

Belichek tampered with the footballs so Jones could drop.

Serious question, why do we really care about pro days? Don't real player evaluators watch film? Isn't film the most important aspect of the evaluation, followed by an investigation of who the person is? The person's make up? I watched Jones' pro day and his physical traits are underwhelming. I then watch some film breakdown videos and he appears to execute the offense as is intended, including making big time throws. I don't have a horse in this race but the obsession with the physical appearance and athleticism seems to be incredibly overrated. Do we want a guy who executes the offense, or a guy who can make plays with his feet? We have recency bias because of Mahomes' (and Wilson's) special ability to do both. But I want a guy who plays quarterback from the pocket. Any additional athletic skills are bonus in my opinion. Again, I am not saying Jones lack of physical talent is not risky, or not to be evaluated. It must be evaluated. I just don't know why evaluators truly care about the pro day when they have film to review, or why we as fans should discount Jones because he does not look as good as these other qbs in shorts and without defenders.

Mobility and pocket passing ability must both be evaluated.

To discount one or the other is ignoring everything that has happened in the past 2-3 years.

And no, I dont care that the greatest QB of all time Brady won a Superbowl recently. He is on his way out. There will never be another Tom Brady that plays exactly like him. The next great QB in the next 15-20 years will be a dual threat. Looks like its Mahomes for now.

Football did not all of the sudden change in the past 2-3 years because of Mahomes. He is a one of one. Again, I'm not saying don't look for mobility. But the person must be a quarterback first, and mobile second. And to my original point, pro days mean squat.

Again, I hear so much about how competitive he is...

But, he goes out and puts up a stinker of a pro-day and then he just ends it with that dumb "navy" play. After that he's yucking it up in interviews. He didn't seem to care that he missed throws.

Fields on the other hand threw a ball a little behind a guy and made him run it again so that he could show everyone he could nail the pass....and did. Then, when his script was done he started just throwing routes that the crowd was asking him to do on the fly.

If you're the ultimate competitor you don't just let a bad showing stand, and you certainly aren't laughing and joking after one. It another sign, along with being out of shape in the middle of the season, that makes me question how competitive and committed he actually is. It's easy to say it, but the evidence doesn't always support it.

Agree. And what people probably don't realize, is Mac Jones 40 time is the same as Mahomes. So it's not like he's a slouch.

At the end of the day, I want someone who can process the offense as it was intended first. Everything else is irrelevant until that. Scrambling and running is the least of my worries.

They said JT had the better command of the three including Alex Smith and noodle armed bomber Shaun Hill. As a 6 year vet by that point you would have hoped he was more ready than the garbage he put on display for us.

Kyle 100% agrees.

But he might be tempted to, hence the due diligence.

Bs, you don't make that move unless you have a guy you really love. Going to all these pro days is due diligence and not tipping your hand, they better know who they want and not p***y foot a month away

They might know who they "really love," but there's no way they aren't going to spend this month crossing their i's and dotting their t's on the other two who will be available, just in case their initial assessments were wrong.

The one thing I agree with is I wish he would have shown his competitive side and been strictly business.

However, he made mention in his pre pro day video that the NFL evaluators are watching how you interact with your teammates.

This pro day he tried to hard to stay even keel and joke it up. Wish he had shown fire.

But he didn't have as bad as a day as you and twitterverse makes it seem. He missed about 5 deep balls relatively clean on everything else. Including throwing on the move.

Exactly this. It'd be foolish to do otherwise. This is such a massive decision which will have repercussions for years to come, as well as affecting their own job status. Shanahan, McDaniel and Scangarello should be focused on nothing else for the next three weeks. Let Lynch, Peters and the scouts handle the rest of the draft board.
