A lot of people still had Jones in the discussion, even after the trade. There's too much of what he does that is synergistic with Shanahan's philosophy on quarterbacks. In the end Shanahan could very well opt for Fields, Lance or maybe there's a surprise selection of Wilson but I also wouldn't be shock whatsoever to see him go with Jones.
People who have written off any one of these QB's for whatever reason might find themselves in for an unpleasant surprise on draft day.

Yeah I don't agree. I don't think you bother going to multiple Pro Day workouts from four to five different QB prospects if you're locked in on one or two guys. I'm sure there's a guy that they would select if the draft was today but interviews, more film study and other factors could change that quite a bit in three weeks time.

You think they're going to setup a second workout for Trey Lance to go check out the vast plethora of NFL talent at NDSU? They have a favorite, maybe two, but they're open to being persuaded. Nothing wrong with that. You can't have in-person visits or private workouts with these guys this year so you spend as much time as you possibly can around them to get a deeper insight into what makes them tick.
Let me ask you this, if you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that their favorite was Mac Jones, would you want them to stop looking or really consider their options with the other QBs?

And yes, if I knew that Mac Jones was their favourite I absolutely would want them to keep looking and looking and looking and consider every option possible. But only if Mac Jones and Lance was their favourite.
