Once again, do you think if Fields was fat and had a DUI it would be an issue? We all know it would dominate the draft talk and he would likely fall to the 2nd round. With Jones, it's not s story... and if the DUI is ever publicized, it will be a story of redemption and how he found God or some b******t.

We both know that.
Again what you´re talking about?^^
For the majority of the medias, Justin Fields is better than Mac Jones.
Almost every one of them think three first round picks for Mac Jones is madness.
This narrative that some people are way more critical on Fields just because he´s black and are way more sympathetic with the good old white american Mac Jones is stupid.
Everyone praised Justin Fields after his pro day yesterday.
It ´s not my fault if we have a coach that will forever be associated with Kirk Cousins.
Hell we even had freaking Colin Cowherd pushing for his future son in law Trey Lance for the third place.^^

The point about all the Mac Jones stuff is smoke and mirrors, I think doesn't hold water because I think neither Jaguars or Jets are going to trade out of their respective draft positions.

Chris Simms has NO IDEA who SF likes or is taking...did you not listen to the presser the other day? Kyle said (and went out of his way too) that he doesn't tell Simms s**t since he joined the media world....He said Simms can't keep his mouth shut and Simms doesn't even ask him anymore because Kyle doesn't tell him anything.

If it was Jones no matter what, why ask Fields to do another pro day? Why send half of your top end scouts and father there? Why get on a jet to Ohio yesterday? Why ask Lance for a second pro day as well?

Their conference the other day, made it sound like he's not gonna be the guy based on what they're looking for overall.

NO ONE knew SF was gonna move up to three, NO ONE knew they were looking at QBs this hard, everyone including the major insiders said Jimmy is the guy UNLESS Watson (at the time) would actually become an option. IF Watson was who they wanted, why is a player like Jones the fall back? Why did no one have a clue about this trade or them actually wanting a rookie QB? It's because SF doesn't talk, no leaks. So any "sources" at this point are full of it.

Could have got on the jet to Ohio after Jones underwhelmed in front of their eyes at his pro day and Peters was like yo Kyle Fields is killin it up here.

Please draft Fields.

Maybe you weren't paying attention, but the initial breakdown of Fields was that he's stupid, doesnt go through progressions and is a one read guy. McShay, Jeremiah and more said that.

Obviously they never bothered doing any research and made blanket statements. The opposite assumption was made with Jones. He's some sort of mental football deity blessed with a genius IQ. I don't see that on tape.

The initial assumptions and then the scrambling afterward to clean it up is the racism I'm referring to. FWIW, it's more of a stereotype than racism, because it happens to whites too, especially at skill positions.

But right now we are talking about quarterbacks, and yes, Jones is being propped up and Fields ripped down by assumed notions that were found to be false.

Btw this topic is toxic I just want to say I am not by any means pretending to be a scout. Just watching some plays from a potential qb candidate of my favorite team so don't come after me lol. I have yet to see a QB nuance breakdown like this for Wilson, Fields or Lance. If anyone has one, please let me know.

But it's THESE traits we know Kyle wants and is even more of a reason why he wants a QB to play within the structure of the play call for as long as humanly possible.

🤮
I DON'T BUY IT

You really think Mac Jones is seeing as the choice for the niners by the medias because he is white? Really?

You obviously didnt read it. Hes talking about unconscious racism, not blatant. The idea that a quarterback looks a certain part so you assume certain things.

For example, Fields is better than Jones in literally every category, mentally as well, but Jones looks like a traditional quarterback and you attach certain stigmas with that.

A good example was that if Fields had a DUI and was fat like Jones, you would definitely hear about him being a potential head case and having character issues. You won't hear these things being an issue for Jones.
The medias think Mac Jones is the third pick because it´s Shanahan and he has a type with QBs based on history, that´s it.
Stop seeing racism everywhere.
And by the way most of them are already questioning us for supposedly taking Jones and not Fields or Lance.

I agree that was one of the worst articles I've read on the webzone.

I'm black and would prefer Jones over Fields, probably because I'm racist right?

Yeah but for exemple Jeremiah is big on Trey Lance and can´t understand at all this idea that we want Mac Jones.
He has Mac Jones at 32 in his last top 50. Lance and Fields are 7 and 8.
Pff is all over Justin Fields. They see him as a number one pick in any draft if not for Trevor Lawrence.
Yes you will find some people like Chris Simms who has Mac Jones third and Field and Lance 5 and 6. But that´s the same guy that was all over Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
And ultimately, there is one thing sure. Kyle Shanahan could care less about others opinions. He will take his QB based on his own evaluation and the DUI story of Mac Jones will probably at some point matters for one good reason. Rueben Foster. I think that they will do their homework on Mac Jones and won´t trust one word from Nick Saban ever again.

Worst sports article I've read in a long, long, long time. Wokeness is a disease.

Great Video. I agree with the statement that if he goes to a good team, he'll be a good QB. Great find!

My other question is how confident are we with Mac's short to intermediate game and having enough arm strength? We know he throws a pretty deep ball but the majority of big plays were just Smith or Waddle burning CB's and Mac just needs to lob it deep......which he deserves credit for hitting consistently. But that won't happen in the NFL.
The tea leaves point to a Shanahan preference for Jones. I think it's because he thinks he's seen more quick thinking and offensive and defensive understanding than All the other quarterbacks, including Lawrence and Wilson, and that's what he values most. He thinks his system will win games if his quarterback can just execute it, and he trusts Jones the most. Who knows if he'd even draft Wilson if Saleh passed.

Kyle doesn't care what we think. He plans to win Super Bowls, and he thinks he'll get his share of the credit for doing so. Not just a super stud quarterback. The man has an ego, but he's right.

We almost universally agree he's a pretty damn good coach. What should follow is you give him what he thinks he needs to best get the job done, and then cheer him on. Let's take pleasure in dominating, and not just quarterback love. Bill Walsh was going to find a way to make his team pretty good, even if it was with other quarterbacks than what he had. As it was, it wasn't just one guy.

From his pro-day work outs, I didn't see an issue with his arm strength. I think what Kyle likes is that he'll be able to throw the deeper passes (maybe as good or much better) than the other QB's. However, you need touch more than arm strength for the short to intermediate game in Kyle's system. A quick release, which I think he has, and that touch is what I would look at for the short to intermediate game.
