Nearly double the second highest poster LOL

Dropping truth bombs because there's so much BS in this thread. I'll post 700 more if I have too

Too much wasted energy if you ask me. At this point, I think Im done with this thread, Fields, and Lance. I think Ive read enough opinions on here and twitter to cause more grey hairs in my beard.

But you legit remind me of a dude outside of a church with signs that the apocalypse is coming LOL. You were bashing Mac supporters when we were at 12 and now being even more overboard now that we're at 3.

Wait, you just s**t on NY for 'wasting energy' for posting his thoughts as people reply to them and you just spent who knows how much f**king time counting his posts from the beginning of the thread ???

Kyle even talked about it a little yesterday when he reference where the team has been at over the past four years, and where it needs to be in the next four years. Yes, we made it to a super bowl, but the offense needs to evolve and not risk stagnation with Jones. I think they've learned there lesson passing on Mahomes and Allen and won't do it again.

Can I ask why we need a smoke screen if we are picking 1 and 2. And we already know who's going 1 and 2. Just a bit confused. It's not like any team has a chance to trade ahead of us

Lets say they come out and publicly say we traded up to get Fields. The Jets may second guess themselves and take Fields or they may see it as a smokescreen. By keeping their mouths shut, they have a better chance of getting who they want.

Webzone article playing the race card now in the Jones vs Fields debate now. It was only a matter of time

I read it and it has to be one of the worst articles I ´ve ever seen.
You really think Mac Jones is seeing as the choice for the niners by the medias because he is white? Really?

You obviously didnt read it. Hes talking about unconscious racism, not blatant. The idea that a quarterback looks a certain part so you assume certain things.

For example, Fields is better than Jones in literally every category, mentally as well, but Jones looks like a traditional quarterback and you attach certain stigmas with that.

A good example was that if Fields had a DUI and was fat like Jones, you would definitely hear about him being a potential head case and having character issues. You won't hear these things being an issue for Jones.
The medias think Mac Jones is the third pick because it´s Shanahan and he has a type with QBs based on history, that´s it.
Stop seeing racism everywhere.
And by the way most of them are already questioning us for supposedly taking Jones and not Fields or Lance.

Seeing a clear bias when a nearly impeccable Fields is dragged through the mud for two "bad games" and a false notion that he's dumb is not seeing racism everywhere.

Once again, do you think if Fields was fat and had a DUI it would be an issue? We all know it would dominate the draft talk and he would likely fall to the 2nd round. With Jones, it's not s story... and if the DUI is ever publicized, it will be a story of redemption and how he found God or some b******t.

We both know that.

I agree that was one of the worst articles I've read on the webzone.

I'm black and would prefer Jones over Fields, probably because I'm racist right?

I'm black too, you dont get points for that or a pat on the back. If you dont got anything constructive to add you might as well post somewhere else smh.

His point is that he disagreed that there is any racial bias. No need to attack him, man. I agree with him, I've watched all the quarterbacks in this class. Fields is #5 on the list for me solely due to his film. The way he looked when blitzed was especially troubling. He seemed like the worst among the top 5 guys with handling the blitz. That knocked him down a lot in my eyes.

"watched film" = found some youtube video to prop up preconceived notions.

"Disagrees with me therefore HE'S the one that didn't adequately study the QBs."

beat me to it.

This is what I find odd. So stay within the structure of the play as long as possible even if it results in incompletion or a sack? Isn't that pass rush dependent? He isn't going to have hours back there. Yeah I'm sure he processes fast, I've heard that enough times. Also have seen enough of Murray and Wilson evade the pass rush, improvise or take off running and convert a 3rd and 12. Would be nice to have that weapon in your arsenal.

LOL. It's gotta be 3K in the Fields thread.

There's no point in tipping your hand. It accomplishes nothing and could possibly screw things up. If they say they are targeting X and the Jets take X then they have to say that Y was their target all along.
Schefter with some truths:

"And Mac Jones is a quarterback who, in talking to another NFC general manager this week, said to me that the media does not have as high of grades on Mac Jones as teams do. And I asked him what he meant by that. And he said, 'Mac Jones has elite-arm accuracy. He is an elite processor of seeing how the play is going to unfold. He is an elite leader.'

"And that was how a GM from a non-NFC West team—not San Francisco—described Mac Jones to me. He said to me that his athleticism is as good as Matthew Stafford. He said that this is a guy that would've gone higher than the media forecasted."

I think he´s as athletic as Stafford yes. The only problem is that Stafford as a machine gun in his right arm.^^

MD and I have stated many times in the past we don't judge solely off of youtube videos. Especially not highlights either. If you know where to look, you can view entire games. Been reviewing players a long time, man. I had no preconceived notions about any player going into this draft season. I watched guys, I looked for certain traits and how they handled certain situations. Didn't like what I saw with Fields in comparison.

No one's ever 100% right, but I have a very strong track record overall, I put in the time so I trust what I see. Just not a Fields fan. Maybe he'll be great. Who knows?

Four teams in the top 10 picks this year need a QB, and if you can create enough desperation and intrigue into one specific person, it could have ripple effects. I'm not saying Kyle is playing 4D chess or anything, but what if Salah told Kyle he knew of several teams that were trying to get ahead of us in the two spot to draft a QB, and that they may be interested in moving if they got a Ditka/Ricky Williams type deal that was ludicrous in it's enormity. Why not get them to take Mac and leave us with Wilson/Fields assuming that's who Kyle really wants. Nobody knows who Kyle wants, I'm just outlining a reason why the smokescreen talk even exists and why people are talking about it so much.

Wrong. Under pressure QB rating for Fields per PFF 54.1 and 123 for Jones. Multiple scouts have questioned Fields processing on the field.

I thought it was implied that staying in as long as possible to execute the play design didn't imply staying there and getting smashed as a result. That said, if you do decide to watch the video, he does take a lot of shots just as he gets rid of the ball for completions. Jimmy, same concept. So if you don't have the quick release, ability to throw and spin nearly, at the same time, etc. you're going to take a lot of kill shots. It's a legit concern for all pocket passers esp. behind our PP OL.

The adverse is true too... you're just as likely to get killed NOT staying within the structure and continue to hurt too like RGIII, Mahomes, Murray, Garoppolo, Wentz, Jackson, Watson, etc.

So pocket instincts...why it's more of an inherent trait than anything.

Russell Wilson is the best and ONLY QB to do it for years and not have a short shelf life IMHO.
