From my limited viewing I'd say he was not asked to do a lot of this. Still learning.

Yeah there's just not a ton of it on film. Looks like slow motion to me lol....like other things you can get better at it.

You did watch how slow those are right? Mac has tape of him doing this as well (even though he didn't have to do it a ton) and his pro day was focused to show more of that specifically in hopes of dispelling that "statue" label in an under 20 minute workout (LOL). If you don't have to do that to be successful, why would you?

But of course, those plays would turn into RPO's with a guy like Wilson, Lance and Fields because that's a strength for them and an added play design for the OC.

I fully understand your take. I was just showing you what Kyle calls now and clearly, that would be a non issue for Jones.

Kyle would love that extra skill set though. No doubt!

This has nothing to do with athletic ability, I have no idea why it keeps coming back to that with you....Running and making throws outside of the pocket after your back has been turned is different then making a 5 step drop back and throwing to an open Smith all game. When he has to move and reset his feet his long base causes him to be less accurate overall too.

No there isn't really any tape of him playing under center and running PA/boots, not that I've seen. THL said the same. it's all RPOs out of the gun for the most part. Like THL said there wasn't many designed rollouts & quick passing game (rhythm passing not RPOs) wasn't really there either.

At this point some of the MOST important aspect of Kyle's passing game is a pure projection...it's not saying he can't learn it, but this narrative than he's some scheme fit is simply not true overall.

Kyle saw the HS tape on Jones and loved it . Lots of boot and PA

If they moved up for Jones, a guy that they didn't have to move that high for, then Lynch is on the phucking hot seat big time.

He's only on the hot seat if Jones doesn't progress. And how high they had to move versus how high they did move is closer than you think. They had to get above Carolina — and not just where Carolina is, but where they otherwise would end up. Only Miami and the Bengals were definitely not taking a QB in the top 8. That means there was a chance FIVE QBs are off the board at 9. And if they're not, there's a good chance the Broncos take one, and if not that, New England trading up to 10 or 11 — IF they're even still there by them.

It is entirely conceivable Jones would have been gone before Carolina's original pick (via a trade up ).
this is reminding of when Daniel Jones was being linked to the Giants. People kept telling themselves no way, he's not even a first round guy.

There's just way too much smoke to ignore. If this dude ain't brees or Brady, Shanahan is going to get a lot of heat

Just reading Breer's mailbag, and while he's hearing other people in the league thinking it's Jones....it's more based on the fact that he fits the mold of some of the older QBs he's worked with (named Shaub/Kirk/Ryan). So basically it's just straight up guessing and literally no one paying attention to what Kyle actually said at the presser on Monday.

more SF beat writers are not believing the fluff either (which doesn't mean anything just pointing it out)

Looks perfectly fine.

Now this is a skill you actually can train on.

I wouldn't see Kyle doing many of these from under center either. Similar to Garoppolo.

It feels weird for every QB...turning your back to the defense, planting and throwing (hopefully to that wide open primary). It's definitely something Kyle would drill into him in practice given PA is 25% of the offense.

totally agree! Taking Jones will be a HUGE mistake! Let's take this offense to a much higher level like Nick Wagoner says!

I mean, they should both be somewhat on the hot seat no matter what, for making this trade. And I applaud them for doing it, but they have to deal with the consequences. If we go on historical trends, one or two of the (Jones, Fields, Lance) will succeed and the other(s) will bust. If they go Fields and Jones ends up being really good, they'll have to deal with that too.

I could totally buy that. Maiocco, Silver, King, Barrows, Kawakami, Lombardi, Brandt, Simms, etc. Sooooo much smoke but like you said, those inside league circles MAY just be feeding them what most of us fans can see as well in terms of what Kyle wanted from the past esp. because of him not wanting RGIII or Kaepernick because he'd have to change his entire offense and that's not fair to other 10 offensive players either (his words).

That doesn't mean he hasn't changed his mind and isn't ready to come out of the think-tank with a whole new vision. Remember what he did with the running game? He likes to evolve, create, redesign, etc. I believe that's why he's been wanting another top end TE...just another way to create mismatches.

I could totally see him wanting Wilson and Fields for those reasons.

One Kyle-concern was that he never evolved the offense to match New England's passing game for Jimmy Garoppolo so would he now do it for a rookie QB with a different skill set?

My Take....Kyle is the system...not the QB.
