Not a chance. Jimmy's 10 is being worn by nobody but Jimmy, for probably a year or two after he's gone.

I predict that Jimmy will be gonezo if they draft Mac.

Yeah, I know Kyle Shanahan loves Mac," Patrick said while reading off what one source texted to him. "Was told personnel department is still hoping to change his mind to Trey Lance.
"Two teams who need quarterbacks both said they believe Mac Jones to the Niners is a done deal," Patrick said while quoting a different source
"The Niners and Shanahan are the only ones who know, but I'm hearing that Trey Lance makes more sense with Jimmy G being a bridge quarterback this next year," Patrick read. "Shanahan prefers a more mobile quarterback. Regardless of what Mac Jones ran, he's not athletic outside the pocket. He's [an] accurate/timing/touch passer. But inside, there's discussions of Trey Lance or Mac Jones."

Lol so teams that WANTS a QB are hoping Jones gets overdrafted and another source is saying Kyle wants a mobile QB....no one has a clue and it's hilarious.
IMO I think Kyle was pretty truthful this week and basically said they want a high ceiling high trait QB and are willing to pay Jimmy $27M this yr to be the bridge QB, you're not doing that if you're picking Jones

Man, just listened to Eric Davis' pod and I don't think he took one breath the entire time.
Anyway, had some interesting takes. He thought the move up to 3 might be simply to buy them more time for evaluation because they liked the guys but weren't in love with anyone. But he felt Lynch might be playing some 4D chess knowing if they don't fall in love, they'll be in great position to trade out, get a haul and still be higher than 12. Interesting.
He had Mac as his #3 QB. He said playing at Alabama IS playing for an NFL team. "No bad games despite immense NFL environment and expectations."
Finally, as long as Jimmy wins, it doesn't matter if they draft a QB at 3. He saw that with Garcia, we're seeing that with Rodgers/Love, etc.
I don't know how much coke he was on...but, interesting takes.
Yea, Alabama is an NFL team, but playing against college teams lol. Hard to look bad. Also, the expectations obviously can't be too high seeing as Jones never found where the weight room was.
And there is no comparison to the Love/Rodgers situation. Not with 3 first round picks being invested.
He was talking about the environment of playing there...the program, the film study, the coaches, the preparation, the expectations, pressure to perform, etc. not the competition itself.

Another fine made up stat by PFF.
Yeah he is probably worse .
BUT not made up if it favored Mac. Ahhh, I see.
No PFF is notorious for made up click bait stats. There is so much going into a play design and a play call that they have no way of knowing how or why something ends up the way it is.
His point being that because that particular stat makes Jones look less than, you provide a negative take. If that metric was for, say, Fields or Lance you wouldn't have posted.
No PFF is strait garbage with these and has always been. Doesn't matter if it's Mac Jones, Justin Fields ect...they throw out misleading statistics all the time.
The king of BS links knows what is and and isn't BS .
sure , ok .
Member when they listed AA as the best Pass rushing DE in the league? Or how about putting McGlinchy in the top 5 of OT's? It's easy to make up BS when you skew the numbers.
Look at who owns them...

This. Its a tight ship in Santa Clara. The fact that 2 teams that needs a qb "believe" that they want mac does not mean s**t. If anything it shows that they hope they get mac. The other fact that Lance is the guy seems more plausible. But either way, it proves that no one really knows s**t and just throwing smokescreens during the month of the draft.

Being at Alabama means going against that Nick Saban defense daily in practice. One can knock Jones and Bama for it's talent but by the same token iron sharpens iron and Jones got to face some of the best defensive players in the country who play in an incredibly sound and well coached defensive scheme.

Lance makes sense because they kept Jimmy, and because Lance has run the plays that Shanahan loves to kill teams deep with. They don't do it much these days, because Jimmy sucks at both finding the open guy AND throwing deep, but they did with Ryan. And they could do it with Lance.
Also, Lance is a competitor and a very smart guy. He's also 20. There's a lot of reasons to think Shanahan can help him maximize his ability.

I totally agree with you that Mac kind of is the lesser of the three QB's. The only thing I can think of is that maybe *Maybe* (big maybe there) Kyle's thinking of the Greatest Turds on Turf offense that the Lambs had back at the turn of the century. Kurt Warner was nowhere near the athleticism of a Fields or Lance, but that offense blew the doors off the NFL history books. If Kyle sees Mac as a version of a QB like a Kurt Warner that can stand in the pocket and deliver, Kyle will build the offense around him and he'll get Issac 2.0, Holt 2.0, Bruce 2.0 and find Marshall 2.0 to surround the rookie.
Not sure if that's the type of offense Kyle envisions. The Mike Martz offense treated every down like it was 3rd and 15. Kyle has a very different philosophy.
Dynamic run game and boot action are staples of his offense. He seems to molding the offense towards a hybrid of the early 90's niner teams that had weapons at every skill position and the Broncos teams of the late 90s with their unstoppable outside zone run game...both of which his dad won super bowls with.
