Ok, I just got clarification. Albert Breer wrote that the 49ers talked to the Lions about Stafford at the Senior Bowl, but by the time the 49ers had followed up on that, the Rams had already sealed the deal.

Someone told me that it sounded like the 49ers implicitly confirmed they were in on Stafford during their press conference. Did you hear that? I wasn't paying attention that closely. I might have to rewatch it.

They called to talk about him when he came available doing their due diligence , but never gave an offer (concerned over injury history). Allegedly his order or preference was LA, SF, Indy. When talk heated up with LA, Det called SF to see if they wanted to jump in but the price was already way too rich for their blood. 12 pick was a nonstarter for them.

Hmmmm....I thought you said there's no way the Niners will be able to resign T.Williams and most of our own FAs with Jimmy G on the roster. Turns out you're wrong again. Sometimes it's okay to let the guys in the FO do their job before overreacting like what you're doing now with Mac Jones.

Kyle's making $9 million per year now. Not sure Jed wants to swallow the 50+ million over this. Tomsula was only making 3.5 million a year.
