I've been thinking, this is going to come down to how Fields clicks with Shanny in those meetings.... we already know "in a vacuum," Fields is the more talented prospect.... and we know that Kyle would probably love Mac for a bunch of reasons... but Kyle also KNOWS the way the league is trending and how dangerous we could be with Fields, getting near his potential.... so yeah... if Kyle has any doubts about Fields though—from a mental, intangible aspect—Mac's going to be the guy... But if Fields convinces Kyle he can learn, be coached, basically that Kyle can get him near his ceiling... Fields has to be the pick... just my thinking of late...

Same garbage that has everyone screaming for bigger WR's every single draft, like many wanting Hakeem Butler over Deebo just because he was bigger.

They want elite athletes, not football players. Sometimes it works out and you hit gold, but most times you end up with the Winston, Freeman, Locker, Maniel, Manziel, Gabbert, Tebow, Darnold and Mariotta's of the league. Teams keep reaching for the stars and falling flat on their faces.

I'm even amazed a guy like Mac Jones fought his way to the front of the pack with the deck stacked against him. True intellectual pocket passers with solid arms just don't seem to exist anymore. The last high 1st round natural pocket QB was probably Ryan because most college coaches want dual QB's to run their gimmicky systems and the few pocket QB's remaining usually have flaws that knock them outside the 1st round, like even Jimmy G.

Shanahan is going to draw up playmakers wide open, the first option might be covered, the second option might even be covered, but then the 3rd guy will be wide open. Mac Jones is the guy who will find that third option and deliver a strike. And he has excellent footwork to stay in the pocket, avoid pressure and he has the build to take a hit every once in a while.. and he can still scramble for 10 yards when he needs to
