Correct, but he didn't and IMO hasn't shown that he is gonna be much better let alone healthy enough.

Yes but my point was he didn't need to be super mobile to win it for us...just consistent at the other things.

So if Kyle thinks Jones or even Trask can do that then I'd be fine with it. Even if they couldn't make the splash plays when things break down.

Lol glad we're on the same page.

With that said I'm not against Mac. If we can get him in a trade back scenario I'm all for it.

Don't think you are.

gotcha.
I still don't understand what Jones does that Trask can't do. He has Toney but no one close to the deep threats that Jones has.

I can understand liking Jones more... what I don't understand is wanting one but hating the other.

Jones looks to have the prettier deep ball which gets everyone's dick hard cuz of air yards. I agree though they're similar prospects.

I don't get it either. Or the Wilson lovers hating on the folks that like Jones/Trask.
I think a big underrated trait of Jones is the way he evades pressure by sliding in the pocket. Brady, Brees and Manning are really good at that.

Yup. He understands and sees the pressure. He's not Lamar Jackson, but he's got quick feet to move up and down the pocket.

Oh bless your heart lol

Air yards isn't just about throwing it deep.
Warming up to the idea that this just might be KS's guy after a trade down for more draft capital after the top 4 are all gone by the time the Niners pick.

Trask has Pitts

Trask has Pitts

Trask has Pitts, Toney, and Grimes.

Jones has Smith (potential Heisman winner), Metchie, Najee (5th in Heisman voting), and (had) Waddle

Trask didn't have a running game and Pitts was injured a few games. Toney could end up being a 1st round talent, but Grimes is more of a late round prospect. IMO Jones has more top tier talent all around.

Depends how far down your talking. With the Arizona Win I think we lost our opportunity to trade down very far. With all the teams needing a QB I think there's a chance he will be gone by 20.
Another positive on Jones is he's rising rather than falling like fields. It's always a good sign when you see a player improving. You never know exactly where his peak is but I'd rather take a chance on a guy that's progressing instead of regressing.
Im not much a college football fan so I only watch them when im intrigued of a prospect that could be a 49er. I wasnt necessarily high on Jones when seeing his highlights and seeing what great supporting cast he has, but after watching his last game, damn...his throws are so on point. His passes always lead the receivers where they can continue running at full speed, whether its a 25 yard pass or a checkdown to the RB. Deebo, Ajuik, and Kittle's YAC skills would be on full display. However, I do think that Garappolo is good at this as well.

Someone also mentioned his pocket presence reminding 'em of peyton manning and I can see it. He has that same shuffle to maneuver around the pocket. He also made some nice throws with pressure right in his face.

All in all, I am starting to become more of a fan of him. Would definitely be okay with us picking him up in 1st. Might not even have to trade up.
