thing is no one knows because SF hasn't leaked a damn thing according to multiple reports. Kyle hasn't even told his assistants on his QB board yet.
They would rather have Sam then wait on Jones IMO
Again, you could say the same thing about Lance and Fields. At this point, the signs have most pointed to the Niners drafting Mac. Do we know that for sure? No, but to say the panthers don't want Mac cause they traded for Darnold but not saying the same thing for Fields or Lance shows your Bias.

That's one way to interpret it. The other way is that Carolina is convinced Mac Jones will go before their pick.

It's either jones goes to us or he falls way further down and his hype was all smoke.
I just don't buy anything this time of yr...from "sources" it's lying season.
Breer just stated SF has their cards close to their vest and Kyle hasn't even told his assistants his QB board yet. Kyle's presser made it pretty clear that they were not just looking for a Kirk clone. His comments after getting the snot beat out of them by Allen means something. I mean what QBs give him the most issues? It's the Wilson/Murray/Allen/Mahomes of the league. NOT the Jared Goff's.

Biggest pro: AccuracyJones was deadly accurate week in and week out this past season. Just 14% of his passes beyond the line of scrimmage were deemed accurate by PFF's ball-charting process. Not only did that top all quarterbacks in 2020, but it was better than any quarterback since PFF began charting that data in 2018 — including Joe Burrow. Pinpoint accuracy was a key reason that Jones finished 2020 with the lowest single-season negatively graded throw rate in PFF's seven years of grading college football.
Biggest con: Easy situationThe biggest criticisms of Jones center on his middling physical tools and the near-perfect situation around him at Alabama, with now-Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian calling plays and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith featuring as the team's top target. That said, Jones' timing was pristine, and he was vital in the execution of a historically great offense that put up the highest successful pass play rate in the PFF College era (61%).
14% accuracy is terrible. There's no way that's correct.

FYI, I'm fine showing my bias against Jones, have no problems doing that whatsoever.

Can't rule out either interpretation. We will find out for certain on April 29.

Actually clearing up my head with this darnold trade. I'm starting to suspect the Mac Jones hype is all smoke screen. He's gonna fall further down than people suspected. The earliest he could go is to the pats at 15 and he could possibly go into the 20s. Just my hunch now. I see Lawrence, Wilson, fields(us), and Lance to the falcons as the top 4 picks. Yeah he is a good player, but even kyle knows you can't give up that much picks for a potential mediocre talent.

No. Alex Smith rushed for 600 yards and 10 TDs his last year at Utah. He had over 1000 rushing yards and 15 TDs in his college career. Jones couldn't have dreamed of doing that.
Dude, Smith played in urban meyers read option spread. Mac Jones was running rpo's. Two different schemes. If you look at athletic testing it's similar. Mac Jones had a 32" vert which is higher than Watson I believe.

This is my logic too. I honestly think he's tired of the kirk discussions and I'm sure if mac fails if we draft him he will never hear the end of it at least with Lance or fields you got a better shot at getting away from all of that. He likes kirk and I don't blame him he is a good qb, he was drafted into the 4th for a reason and you don't give up that much assets for a kirk type qb

It's PFF. They also appear to be pushing J.Fields as QB 1 in this draft.

Same thing I said. Especially since it said it was the best since they started charting it.
