Agreed. As nervous as I am about Mac being the pick....I still don't buy it. He's a good prospect but I have a hard time imagining Kyle trading all this future capital for just another QB with limitations he'll have to plan around. It just makes no sense to me.


I'm kind of starting to feel like this too. I mean, honestly, whoever it is, worst case scenario we stick with Jimmy longer term if the rookie looks that bad. Or they can always trade him for a 1st rounder and try again with two young guys competing in 2022 lol.

I refuse to believe we made this move for Jones with the other guys in this class. If it happens, I'll support the move and hope Jones proves to be a stud.

Until his name is actually called or Kyle/John come out and say he's the guy I'm calling BS.

Was there anyone who had us linked to Aiyuk or Kinlaw last year? Hell even when we were at 2 there was more buzz about us going with Quinnen than Bosa.

I remember beating that drum too saying it made too much sense to draft Bosa and people kept showing others talking about our love for QW.

I think this is more of the same. Kyle is still super paranoid and wants nothing coming out without a reason. Now we know he has his own rankings - Foster could've easily been the #3 overall pick in 2017 if Bears took Thomas and Aiyuk could've easily been the pick at 13 if Kinlaw was drafted ahead of us.

Could he have Jones graded THAT highly? I guess it's possible but I just can't see the rest of the room agreeing with that type of move to get him. This isn't throw a late pick into a trade up into the bottom 3 to get Beathard. This is SERIOUS draft capital you're investing on a player.

And while you don't let fans drive your moves...it does matter. York has gotten a lot of good will lately with how things have been running even with the bad seasons but a move like this can really turn the fans.

We'll see what happens but I just really have a hard time seeing it if we're looking to move on from Jimmy.

This. I'm not in denial like some other posters are, I know there is a real shot that it is him. But context is key. Schefters reports are accurate, but this seems like speculation still

I don't know if I've ever been more upset about something 49ers related as I will be if they draft Jones. Even the two Super Bowl losses wouldn't be as bad.
