It's all speculation, no one really knows anything outside of a handful of people at 49ers HQ.

Did he say why though? I want to know the reason. If Kyle hasn't even told his scouts who he wants, then I don't think anyone could know now.

It was flat out quoted wrong

Is that from terminator?
I think this is the first time in the kyle/John regime that the tight lip culture is being shown nationally. No one knows what's going on so they lazily assume Jones. Plus it's a controversial take and controversy means views, clicks, etc.
We have a a few weeks to go to before the NFL Draft, so I'm sure this topic of "the future 49er QB" will be re-hashed ad nauseum. From MY perspective, when the 49ers traded up to the #3 pick, they were relishing the opportunity to have multiple options...all of them "very good". We know from Shanahan's comments that he has become intrigued by the opportunity to have a multiple-threat QB....especially after witnessing the versatility of Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, and the strength, durability and 80-yard passes of Josh Allen! (who doesn't?). In MY view, the 49ers really like Zach Wilson, and in the unlikely event the Jets decide to pick Justin Fields, Zach will be a 49er. How ever, assuming Wilson will be chosen by the Jets, I would prefer to see Justin Fields chosen by the 49ers. Fields has the athleticism, intelligence and arm to compete at the highest level. Mac Jones has strength and durability.... but lacks the mobility that a "true difference-maker" could offer.
In any case, Jimmy G is still the 49er QB for 2021.... but we still may witness a trade involving Jimmy.... that is, if another team makes the 49ers "an offer they can't refuse"!

Yeah I know. Someone posted the actual quote. Freakin' Twitter man.

Just like the media, they take anything and run with it....facts don't really matter. Clicks and heated debate is what sells

It's got to be Star Trek.

Mobility, sure. But Fields' ARM is what separates him from the pack.

Now that even Schefter is beating the drum for Mac Jones, I've accepted my fate. I'm going to start selling myself on Mac from here on out.

This is like dating a 7 and then during the breakup you have a freebie pity f**k from 9s and 10s and you choose another 7.

And you have to buy them a car and dinner in order to f**k them lol. WTF are we doing here??

Star Trek Next Generation
It's Hugh, the Borg.
Just like Mac Jones, he gets all his strength from the Collective. Without it, he's weak sauce.
Coincedence?
This Mac Jones I bet prefers Qdoba over Chipolte cause their queso is better. If that's not enough reason to hate him then I got nothing.
Do not want. Absolutely don't want. Barely even wanted at 12. 110% don't want. I want Trey 5 times more and Fields 50 times more.

But Mac will be the pick. **** you Kyle.
i just cant believe this guy has two DUI's and may go top 3 in the draft. If it was fields with 2 DUI's? He would have so many "off field issues that is causing him to drop"

Then you'd have Dan Orlovsky saying he got the DUI cause he never learned the alphabet and couldn't count by thousands.
This is different than "would be shocked"
