To be fair, I don't think Mac Jones will fail, so I wouldn't expect the 49ers to be looking for a QB in the near future. I think he's actually going to be pretty damn good on a similar level to Kirk Cousins. He's just not going to be the transcending talent people want at QB.

Said it a bunch of times, but my issue isn't necessarily taking Mac. It's that they gave away a boatload of draft picks for a dude that also shouldn't be going 3rd overall.

I don't think any of these QBs will fail in SF, I think the most innovative play-caller in the NFL should be able to take a high trait/ceiling QB and turn him into a star.

I guess he's just not in the same league as Andy Reid or really his father.

it's funny how kyle talks about needing a healthy QB...he's gonna go with a squishy under sized QB with not real escape ability to protect himself. he's gonna toss him back behind our OL, which he clearly values movement/speed vs being able to anchor and block in PP.

jones isn't gonna make it through a 16 game season not a chance.

A running QB is way more likely to get injured than a pocket passer. look how long Farve and Eli went without getting hurt playing strictly from within the pocket.

I thought Mac was fat? now all of a sudden he is undersized? At least be consistent. Is that too much to ask?

Fields=6-foot 2/8 inches, 222 pounds
Jones= 6-foot-3, 217 pounds

Wow....what a massive difference in size these two are.

Hero, NY. You guys are trippin. It's not gonna be Mac. Don't listen to the media noise. Trust your knowledge in what we know about Kyle and his words regarding how his evaluation of QBs has changed. How he wants a prospect that has the potential to be elite.

Kellen Mond is back on the menu boys!

When Mac Jones finds out the chocolate chip cookies in the 49ers' lunch room are all-you-can-eat.

Bwahahaha!!!!

9-12% body fat vs 25-30% body fat. I'll let you decide who is who. Lol

He couldn't be further from those or the guys as a prospect.

like I said if it happens, I wouldn't be spending cash to fly to Levi and watch that crap. Hope he plays like Brady because that's the only way they make it work and keep their jobs imo.

That went from 4 to a 10 real fast.

Extra body fat provides cushioning.

You mean 4...
Any rule to how long step 4 can last?

With the Niners all we have to go on is CJ Beathard...which doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

They ran a super similar scheme at Iowa, PA/boots under center a ton.

We had no choice.

Plan A was Watson and I think we were going to get him until he destroyed everything (allegedly).

Jimmy and MInshew was not going to cut it this year and I am glad we didn't use hopium in hopes that Jones/Fields/Lance would make it to #12 or within shorter trading distance to 7-8 where we weren't guaranteed a trading partner and someone else behind us could have traded up to as Kyle said "leave us at the altar."

I'd rather overpay with the two future 1sts for Jones if that's who Kyle is set on than hope he falls far enough to be within closer reach or to our pick or hope no one else trades up for him first leaving us with Jimmy and nobody this year. That would have been ****ing unacceptable.

Trade Jimmy for the Pats 2nd rounder and combine with our 2nd to move up to 18-22 and grab another top talent and there you go we essentially get our 2022 1st rounder a year early right now and takes the sting away from next years first as long as we are picking 20+ next year.

By the time we figure out if Jones (or Fields) is legit or not it will be 2024 and we'll have all our 1st rounders again. A 1st in 2022 is 2nd round value after discounting back to present, and the 2023 1st is a 3rd round value as they have to wait two years to use it. And we got to keep all our picks this year which was huge.

This mortgaging the future talk is garbage especially if these are two 1sts in the 20+.

When debating QB builds and their correlation to durability, remember that the 49ers are in this position despite having a tank at QB
