Getting the Todd Blackledge of the 1983 draft. Stoked.

Shopping Fields and Lance is smart.

I wonder why they don't want to pick M.Ryans replacement out of the remaining two QB's Fields and Lance, especially Fields who's a Georgia native.

Ryan is only in year 13. Nothing to indicate he is done or wants to be. I can see them not going after a QB for that reason. On the other hand, I can see them taking a QB because if you are paying a guy that much and are drafting high two years in a row...

But my guess is Atlanta trades back.

Except nobody thought it was a bad pick at the time. It was the Marino pick that Miami was slammed for.

Not a comment on Schefter, comment on the pro Jones narrative. You took it wrong or I wrote it wrong.

Every QB has been listed as going to the Niners. These writers and draft gurus keep making all these predictions and they've pretty much covered every possibility. Some of them are going to be right. Then they can spend the next few weeks writing about how they knew all along and they had inside sources. All of that is bull. They're like these people that make predictions every year about events that will happen. They make 30 predictions and if 29 are wrong and 1 is right, they hang their hat on it and brag about how they knew it. We forget about all the wrong predictions.

Sheftler is much more than just a writer.

If fans know only 1/10th and coaches/front offices all know 10/10ths.... where would you rate Schefty?

I don't know him enough to rank him. But anyone paying attention knows he's more than just a writer.

If he said they were drafting Fields THEN he would be just a writer. Lol

No insider would say that though.

Oh I meant Tony Eason then.
All the analysts love this guy and his ball placement is on the dime, it just doesn't have the effortless zip that the other top QBs have. In the pros accuracy and timing is everything. Kap had plenty of juice on his throws but could only see half the field, and couldn't hit a throw to his RBs to save his life.

For Mac though everyone says how great his supporting cast was. But I keep hearing he had the toughest schedule ever in college football and won the championship.

So could it be instead of the WRs, RB, and OL making Mac look good, maybe it was Mac that made them look good ? Kyle should be able to evaluate that.

Didn't the Jets fans want Marino but got stuck with Ken O'Brien instead?

But, dad-bod.
The thing that I don't like with Jones' play style that I haven't seen brought up much is how cautious he is. JTO touches on it here a little bit https://youtu.be/miLOBJmT0zQ?t=204. What I see from Jones is a guy who is very risk averse, and his high IQ is frequently just him quickly turning down his first read to find the easy underneath option. Tight-window throws are VERY few and far between with him. The riskiest passes he makes are when he has Smith one on one and he just throws whether the CB has leverage or not. He has five-man protections most of the time, so he always has a checkdown option, which is not the case in our offense. Most great college qb's have the confidence to try to make plays and throw to covered guys. They're usually a bit reckless and you have to dial that down in the NFL. You shouldn't have to dial a qb's aggressiveness up.

Lol. Zimmerman ripping Marino. Didn't age very well. Funny they said he was considered best QB in country as a junior.

It's not that he's cautious, it's that JT O'Sullivan was the most aggressive passer in NFL history under Mike Martz, so he sees everything from that angle. That doesn't mean he's not wrong either, on some of those. But taking care of the football was pretty much his least priority. LOL. Just adding context.

Just watching his second pro day and it's so painfully obvious how subpar his arm talent is...he has to get so much air under the ball to get it there...the velocity is just not close to the other guys

GIVE ME MAC OR GIVE ME DEATH!!

Yes because that what matters lol...How I react is so much more important that having a top 5 QB in the the league.

Seriously. Imagine being a fan of this team and being more excited to check at fan outrage versus getting the best player for the team.

I don't care if i look like a giant idiot as long as it means the team is in great shape. If Jones is the pick I hope to hell he's going to have a Brady like career.

But until he's the pick, i'm going to continue saying he should NOT be the pick.

Priorities in the Mac crowd seem to put winning pretty low.

That Part.
