Also it has everything to do with Kyle, the majority of analysts say fields is better but Mac is the guy because he's a Shannahan guy

Who's "your guy" potty mouth?

Why is Mac a shanny guy?

Because he has similar traits to QBs that he and his father have won with in the past.

Anymore brain busters?

Mike Shanahan won Super Bowls with Steve Young and John Elway... They are the complete opposite of Jones.

But Mike didn't hand pick any of those two QBs. Good OC, but terrible QB evaluator. Like father, like son.

Well if Mac Jones is Kyles choice of the QBs and he's a terrible talent evaluator that means......

Mike Shanahan said years later they wanted Matt Leinart.

Pretty much..and we have seen it with Beathard and Mullens. And the only guy he would ever really love on his team is Cousins who throws pick sixes and is dependable for an 8-8 season.

I've said over and over I will root for anyone that is a Niner....Jones is gonna have to PROVE he's Tom Brady to even be close to worth what they paid. Again it's a f**king arrogant pick by Kyle who proven overall he's not great at evaluating talent or the QB position.

sorry if I'm not gonna blow $500-$1000 to go watch Mac Jones play football...nothing about that is exciting.

and you keep saying "if" how about you "if" he doesn't live up to his draft pick are you gonna blindly follow this team and think they're always correct?

He liked him enough to give up a future 1st and a 3rd...Mike ran the whole organization at that point too.

Who are the QBs with similar traits that they won with?

Edit: They did not win with Kirk Cousins and that is the guy he is most comparable to

Im curious which QB does Fields remind you of that won at the rate you apparently want Jones comp to win at?

I'll wait....

Anyone that reminds him of the dream guy he and father drafted together, Kirk Cousins, is a Shanny guy. 100% Kyle and Mike made this decision together.

Can we stop this stuff please? If he was their dream guy they would've taken him before the 4th round. I don't care if Snyder forced them into taking RG3 if they loved Cousins that much they would've taken him with their next pick.

I read somewhere they actually preferred Russell Wilson but he was already drafted so they took Cousins.

Either way...you learn what works, what doesn't and you adjust accordingly. Kyle has said as much but some of you guys aren't listening. I guess we'll see if his actions match his words as of late.

I just have a hard time seeing Kyle look at what our team is able to do vs pocket QBs on defense and then what mobile QBs have done against us and not want to integrate that in his own offense.

Nope, it was Sunquist that drafted Leinart. He writes about it here, and Mike has came out multiple times years later and said Leinart was his guy.

Shanahan had fallen for USC's Matt Leinart and felt he was the right selection, while Dinger and I were aligned on Cutler. But we'd need to move in the draft to get either, and we weren't sure it'd be worth it to do that. Plummer was still our guy, his teammates loved him, and we didn't feel too much pressure to make a change. Scouts and coaches were just doing their normal evaluation process, letting the data and reports come in before making any rash decisions or rushing to judgments. Everything appeared routine.
I took the proposal to Shanahan and wasn't prepared to accept "no" for an answer. It didn't take much to get his approval. I called Rich back and said, "We're in."

This was an interesting article that can apply to what we are seeing in this draft (especially the Leinhart/Jones comparison).
