While I won't be surprised if Kyle gets Mac, I am confident that Fields will be the guy now. Everyone's doom and gloom had me convinced its Mac for a while but im done flip flopping and can't wait to buy a Fields 49er jersey

Sucks for him because it's not his fault he's about to get MASSIVLY over drafted. Kyle will have a zone blocking scheme that is about movement and speed vs anchoring and straight up PP like Bama has had. Jones will be forced to make plays off script like every single QB and it will be a failure.
I mean at this point we gotta realize he's probably gonna be the pick. Kyle has proven to be awful at evaluating QBs and overall is known for reaching....It's one thing for people to say well this is what Kyle does and I told ya he will reach for system fit vs talent (which has proven to not work thus far).
BUT it's another thing for people to truthfully be onboard with such a stupid decision or pretend he's as talented as the other 4 QBs in this draft...Like you don't have to drink the Kool-Aid just because Kyle made it lol. This will go down as the most arrogant I can win with whoever, my scheme is the best pick in NFL history.
I've brought this up a couple times and it's shocking

W-L as play caller by QB
2-10 CJ Beathard
7-12 Brian Hoyer
5-11 Nick Mullens
22-8 Jimmy G
19-13 Matt Ryan
0-2 Johnny Manziel
0-1 Connor Shaw
12-16 RGIII
6-10 Rex Grossman
5-8 McNabb
1-3 Kirk Cousins
0-3 John Beck
15-12 Matt Schaub
2-3 Rosenfels
I'm legit one of the biggest Kyle fans on earth

never waivered when people jumped to fanboy McVay in 18... predicted SF's 19 breakout
but you still need to hit a home run at 3
you can't assume hitting a single will win a Super Bowl because it's Kylehttps://t.co/kSO8s3wCtp
If you can't learn from your mistakes and see WHO is actually beating you on Sundays and why...you're never gonna win it all in this league. He's already had 3 10+ losing seasons in part because of QB play. He's lost 2 SBs because of his choice at QB.
I'm with you on needing to get the guy with the elite traits with a top 5 pick, but that is just nonsense. That's not why the 49ers and Falcons lost.

Kirk was a 4th round pick, Schaub was a 2nd I believe, Jimmy cost a 2nd, beathard is a 3rd, the only one is Matt Ryan but he is clearly the best out of those guys. This regime likes getting players they are connected to, he'll John was f**king classmates with Thomas and that tipped the scale for some reason, and we all know Kyle worked with Fields before. I think he pretended to not make a big deal out of it but 1 key figure that is convinced that kyle has no interest in Mac is Sage Rosenfels cause of that Fields connection. He knows how much Kyle likes him and im Sure John Beck, Fields current trainer, has been in constant contact with Kyle since Kyle has coached him before.

Even with this argument, though, the 49ers would still be overpaying for Mac Jones. Part of drafting is accurately assessing how the rest of the league values a player, and normally it is best to not focus too much on one player, because then you will overpay to get that player. The 49ers could assess Mac Jones as the best QB in the draft, and still determine that no other team is likely to draft him before #6, conceivably even before #12. The 49ers could in theory wait for Mac Jones to drop to #12 and get the steal of the draft. Or if they really want to make sure they get him, wait till draft day and spend draft capital to move up to #6 when that pick is on the clock. Instead of trading 3 firsts and a third, they could get him for 2 firsts. Being a GM isn't about just picking the right players, it is also maximizing your draft capital to get as many good players as you can.

I do not understand how this isn't the case with Fields, who is as physically talented (well more) as those guys, and as accurate as Mac.
People talk about anticipation issues with Fields, yet Lawrence has the same concerns (both nonsense and due to the offense) and issues against the blitz (yet Zach Wilson is worse).
It's mind boggling.
I really don't think Wilson is as good of a prospect as the Jets apparently do, but because I'm assuming he'll be gone at 3 I haven't talked about him much. I would imagine it's the same for a lot of other people in this thread.
Lawrence I don't see as perfect but I do see him as a generational type of prospect who deserves to go #1 overal.
I dont disagree with him going number one, but outside of the hype and him looking the part what does he do that has cemented him number one?
Is he that much better than Fields and Wilson?
Lawrence mainly going #1 because he has been great since he was a freshman.
So has Fields..
Fields couldn't beat out J.Fromm.
Burrow couldn't beat out Haskins..
You're really bad at this lol.

If Mac Jones' brain is elite, then he could out shine the rest of the QB in the draft.

How many Montana and Brady have there been in football history? So you're saying his ceiling is the third best QB of all time? Lol. Sorry that's not his ceiling, it's Cousins/Rivers/Ryan. Realistically somewhere between Tim Couch and a healthy JG seems right.
