I agree.
I'm not sure what relevance your 2017 QB5 list is though?
Mac Jones is rated far better as a prospect than any of the names you listed.

And the arguments they make are air-tight. Jones' strengths — decision-making, accuracy, anticipation, "winning before the snap", as they say — are everything Kyle Shanahan covets."

I just can't see it happening.. why take a guy who doesn't offer much more than Jimmy does at number 3? Why? If Kyle drafts Jones it will be good demise. After watching what Wilson does to us, what Josh Allen did to us there's no way he's so arrogant and believes his system can excel with any run off the mill qb.

Obviously anyone drafting him in the Top 10 (49ers or not) would disagree with your summary.
Crumbling under preasure is interesting - isn't Jones' stats when he is under pressure one of his strengths?

So, here is a reason to argue that Mac is worthy of the #3 pick. Everyone says that Mac has a low ceiling, however that really isn't accurate. His ceiling is Tom Brady, Joe Montana, etc. Some of the best QB in history do not have elite physical talents. What a QB without elite physical talents needs is an elite brain. If Mac Jones' brain is elite, then he could out shine the rest of the QB in the draft.
Even with this argument, though, the 49ers would still be overpaying for Mac Jones. Part of drafting is accurately assessing how the rest of the league values a player, and normally it is best to not focus too much on one player, because then you will overpay to get that player. The 49ers could assess Mac Jones as the best QB in the draft, and still determine that no other team is likely to draft him before #6, conceivably even before #12. The 49ers could in theory wait for Mac Jones to drop to #12 and get the steal of the draft. Or if they really want to make sure they get him, wait till draft day and spend draft capital to move up to #6 when that pick is on the clock. Instead of trading 3 firsts and a third, they could get him for 2 firsts. Being a GM isn't about just picking the right players, it is also maximizing your draft capital to get as many good players as you can.
How many Montana and Brady have there been in football history? So you're saying his ceiling is the third best QB of all time? Lol. Sorry that's not his ceiling, it's Cousins/Rivers/Ryan. Realistically somewhere between Tim Couch and a healthy JG seems right.
For starters, Montana was more nimble and athletic than Jones when he came out. Brady, probably less athletic than Jones. But the point of the original post is that athleticism gets overstated for the QB position and the mythological "ceiling". There is certainly a trend toward more athletic quarterbacks in the NFL, but it's relevant to point out that two of the greatest players to play the position were ball distributors that beat you with their brain more than their physical prowess.
Some believe that the qualities between a QB's ears, e.g., sensing pressure, reading defenses quickly, anticipating what routes are likely to come open pre-snap, in combination with an ability to deliver the ball to the right man with accuracy, are more importance than possessing the ability to dodge a free blitzer, escape an edge rusher who just beat your tackle, or stretching a defense to the breaking point by forcing them to account for a possible QB run. They are two different schools of thought and neither is necessarily right or wrong. What has a higher ceiling, Chinese food or Italian food?
Truth is, no one knows these guys' ceilings until they go out there and do it. There is plenty of history to suggest that the QB's head is his most important asset, but it's also the most difficult to evaluate and measure. But to suggest that player X has a low ceiling because he can't outrun all of the defenders, that just avoids the issue by reducing a QB to his measurable physical attributes.

i hope they take fields or lance over mac. my only contention is how bad you think mac is.
i'd rank the qbs as follows
1. wilson
2. lawrence
3. fields
4. lance
5. jones
though i'd be fine with any of them if kyle believes we can win SBs with him
