Ok. Stubborn and arrogant then. If JG isn't traded by draft day, they're picking Fields. If 'Nickel Slots' Jones is so ready for the NFL, they should be chomping at the bit to get some of that draft capital back.

IMHO, all 3 should sit for a year like Mac did in college.

That's how you took that? Interesting. OK.

Mac can run the scout team his rookie year and make Meco big mad.

If Garoppolo isn't traded it could also mean Lance. And here is a thing. Whichever quarterback Shanahan wants for his O, he brings a whole lot more to the decision than the the average webzoner. So whichever one he goes for, disagreeing with you and a number of other football fans doesn't make him stubborn and arrogant.

Dont forget disagreeing with most other scouts and NFL personnel as well.

Nothing you posted says otherwise. No one but Lynch and Shanahan knows who the 49ers are taking.

Kyle's reaction would be priceless

"This all comes down to Kyle Shanahan. If he goes against the advice of scouts and doesn't break from his old habits, Mac Jones will be the No. 3 overall pick. He offers the upside to become an advanced version of Kirk Cousins, a quarterback who executes the offense his coach calls and consistently helps keep his team in a position to win. In ideal circumstances, Jones can be a good NFL quarterback"

Is Kyle gonna Kyle? Or get someone to open up this offense for real? I still think he's not stupid enough to pick Jones.

LOL. I wouldn't call him stupid for taking a QB he believes is optimal and ideal for his offense but if he does and it fails, and Fields & Lance take off, he's definitely going to feel stupid.

Ok. Stubborn and arrogant then. If JG isn't traded by draft day, they're picking Fields. If 'Nickel Slots' Jones is so ready for the NFL, they should be chomping at the bit to get some of that draft capital back.

Or they would prefer to give Mac time to acclimate to the NFL game and not rush things. No matter what QB is taken at 3, he won't be better than JG on day one.

Agree, but in Mac's case he'll eventually be only as good as JG. All the talking points rave about he's the most NFL ready (he's not BTW, Lawrence is.)

Unlike on Alabama, the 49ers scout team won't have 6 first rounders on it.

"What will that look like without first reads running wide open, though? There are a couple of ways to judge that. The first is with PFF's decision charting that gave him a 73.8 passing grade when forced to go beyond his first read the past two seasons — the lowest of any quarterback in the top five here."

I could swear someone said this part of his game wasn't bad according to Simms.

The tape backs it up. He is not good unless his first read is open.

ok,

IF you want to take that as gospel.....you are dealing with a QB that completed over 80% of his passes, 4000+ yards and 30+TDs while setting the all time passing efficiency record as a 1 read QB......in a SHORTENED season no less.

A QB that could do that with only 1 read would easily be the best QB prospect in this draft.

Do you have any idea what pro coaching could do with a guy that has that much arm talent to constantly throw open 1st read targets. He would absolutely be unstoppable with NFL coaching and normal NFL progressions.

There is no way a QB had that season, and to correlate it to PFFs numbers.

Nobody buys PFFs numbers. PFF has no idea what Jones did and are only guessing.

Reading comprehension isn't your bag, baby but the topic was about Maiocco and Schefter and both have said they believe it's Mac and haven't relented on that since day one based on who they talk inside NFL circles.

That's the opposite of "packpeddling."

Now, if you want fan pods that are all in on Fields, go listen to Javier Vega, Brian Peacock and Oscar. They are big on physical traits too and PFF.

Isn't the whole point in taking Jones because he's some QB savant that's ready day 1?

If the plan is to sit whomever for a yr, why in the world would you not go for elite traits and upside? Makes absolutely no sense

Now THAT is some serious conjecture.

Yea, I agree, it's absurd to think he'll ever be as good as Jimmy at this point. The hope is really just that he's healthier and better than Mullens.
