Jimmy is getting pushed out because he can no longer be trusted to stay healthy, not because of his arm.

Taje a look at his pass chart and how teams have played him. He doesn't throw outside, doesn't throw deep. That is what Mac will be with his arm

I saw Mac connect plenty downfield, not worried in the slightest. My only knock on him is his athleticism. If Kyle values that then Mac aint his guy.

Agree, I dont know where folks think his arm is a noodle arm. Its NFL caliber and can make every pass Kyle will want him to make. I think there is a video in his *high school* days of him throwing a 65 yard TD. I like all three QBs, but any of theses QBs has like a 40% chance of being a bust despite all the film study us amatures do on them.

No, he doesn't have a noodle arm, but of the top 5 QBs, he has the weakest arm.

And yet it's still strong enough to be drafted in the top 10. He's certainly has a stronger arm than Daniel Jones.

I wouldn't be so sure on that, he is pretty close to Jones in arm strength from what I see...which is still good enough, but he is far from having what I would call a plus arm. He is a borderline top ten prospect who is going much higher because of number of teams that are needy and he throws with really great anticipation. If he gets to the right team he is probably going to be good, maybe even very good, but he is going to need the right team and right talent because he isn't going to make up for much if what's around him is lacking.

I once heard Ryan Nassib and Geno Smith were going in the top 10 also.

Many QBs who ended up not having arms that could make it in the nfl have been drafted top 10.

Also "he throws with anticipation". Lol it's college, he never gets pressured and he's playing on a team full of NFL talent. Jimmy threw with anticipation in 2017.... Then the nfl figured him out. Now he doesn't have the physical skills to overcome that. That's what you'll get with mac

I would be fine with Mac Jones honestly. It´s just that three first round picks for me is a little bit too much.
With that type of transaction, you should swing for the fences. You should go for the ubber raw potential talent.
You should take a "risk" on Justin Fields or Trey Lance. And is Fields really a risk?
One good thing about Mac Jones is that the guy improved year after year.
I prefer Fields but well we´ll see.

add Jimmy Clausen & Deshone kizer to that list....and in no world does Jones have a stronger arm than Daniel Jones, that's straight fabrication.

Absolutely, and it's not just running ability, one of Burrows strengths was his ability to create out of structure. Mac has about one play of doing that.

Mac is a good QB prospect, but I'm not sure what's more annoying, people trying to pump him up as a great one, or people dumping on him suggesting he's trash.

Both are utterly incorrect.

Agreed. I don't think he is trash, I just don't want him at #3.

He's not trash I just don't think he's anywhere CLOSE to being worthy selected top 3 let alone giving up what you did for him over Fields even the potential of Lance

Nah I'm fixated he can't hold Fields' jockstrap and shouldn't be the pick.

Eitherway its out of your control. Whether the 49ers draft Fields, Lance or Jones, I'll see your 49ers-addicted ass on here next season, just admit it and let's move on.

Oh I'll be here and if Jones is drafted by us because I love my team I'll cheer and hope he turns out to be a HOF

every single NFL caliber QB can throw a football 50+ yards, if they couldn't they wouldn't even be in the league. Arm talent is more about velocity and being able to have that same strength when you're off platform....It's painfully obvious just watching his pro day vs all the other guys how less of an arm talent he really is.

You don't move up for "good enough" which is what I keep reading/hearing people say with him.

I really like Mac...but it sure seems to me he has just enough arm.

Maybe he has insane control and only throws as hard as he has too....but I can't shake the feeling if he suffered a Jimmy G injury he could be non-functional. I could see old man Payton manning if the dude takes too many NFL hits in his career.

I get everyone's concern on this for the cost of the QB
