In his career at Alabama, he threw the ball 556 times and was sacked 16 times. Protection doesn't get much better than that.

Jimmy threw 140 times in 2020 and was sacked 11 times.

Mac Jones may "appear" not to be pressured a lot. Maybe he because gets rid of the ball faster then the pressure gets to him.

A brutal pill indeed. I hate the idea of drafting Jones over Fields or even Lance. Why make a bold move by trading up to #3 and then be too scared to take the player with the highest upside and ceiling? If Kyle takes Mac Jones at #3, then it is 100% proof that he has a Fathead of Kirk Cousins on his bedroom wall that will never come down.

Are we really critiquing games that he should have went 14/14 with 3 TD passes to start the game? You are right that He didn't face much pressure in this particular game. Also, in 3 of the 4 TDs he had in that game the WRs were very open. But he still made the right reads and threw accurate footballs. If he never faced pressure before I might be concerned. He did though and played well while being pressured. I think Wilson had way more time this season to throw than Mac did, But Fans do not seem to even care about it when it is someone other than Mac.

He also basically said he'd retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't the next great QB.

But, to be fair, he's not projecting that Mac Jones will be good. He's projecting that he thinks Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers FO are morons incapable of either evaluating QBs or understanding draft value.
