Those are the teams that wishes we would take Mac Jones at three having given this much draft capital to do it but we're not

Mac-like QB's are who beat those 3 teams. Even Garoppolo.
800 pages, it's a lock. Easy peasy.
Uh oh. Now Matt Maiocco is politically racist too.

Are black people aloud to wear trump masks or does this only go one way?

Seriously interested, let's here it.

If its so devastating to wear a mask that is sold to the public should we cancel the mask makers?

Sooo, gauged on you inability to leverage time, meaning, and sensitivity.... tell me you cheered on Kaepernick when he kneeled. Since you're so open to interpretation and void of judgement. Since this should be such a free and understanding time.
It would be nice to live in a world where everything just was what it was.

Don't take the bait.

Beats me who we're going to draft or who is going to be the best NFL qb, but I still don't understand the hate Mac Jones gets. He's so good at manipulating the d with his eyes/shoulders, moving around in the pocket, and keeping his eyes downfield.

The hate is simply childish. He simply represents the non-athletic flashy off-schedule big play guy. Mac just isn't "exciting." Simple as that. He's the classic drop back pocket passer who moves the offense methodically down the field for a TD vs. a guy who gets real or ghost-pressure, scrambles behind the LOS for over 3 seconds and heaves a 50 yard bomb for a TD...like Fields' pro day workout. Fans get so excited about that.

This is an oversimplification. The man is consistently out of shape (anyone else out of shape drops their draft stock rather than rising). IT is fair to be wary of a QB who had the perfection situation at all levels around him because he wont have that in the NFL.

Have you ever fast tracked an early undergraduate and master's degree while learning a Steve Sarkisian playbook? Yeah...you don't have time for squat (literally and figuratively).

Let him get into an NFL building where football is 24/7.

This is such an excuse...How many guys draft stock tanked because they were too smart and didn't love football enough to make it their priority? See how easily they twist whatever it is to take out other prospects but Mac gets a pass.

It's a reality if you've ever completed a master's degree. But hey, even without hitting the gym, he managed to become a first round QB...so he did it right. Let's let these guys get in NFL training programs before we start lusting over their abs.

Lol, let's pretend an Alabama QB getting a masters in the athletic department at Alabama is the same as a regular student getting one. Sports Hospitality is made to keep football players eligible longer.

Why more posters aren't focusing on the beauty of having 3 top flite college QBs to choose from is mystifying. We are in the cat bird's seat and have 3, maybe even 4 great picks to choose from. Who has biggest arm, who has nicest touch, who reads Ds the best, who reads Ds the quickest, who can throw to a dime, who has best footwork, who is smartest guy( had no idea Mac was working on his masters), who can coach WRs on his own, who can lead best, who commands most respect...and you can think of others. THAT is what we SHOULD be focused on, not who had a DUI (unless that was a chronic problem).

Sure i get that there are probably negatives with each and every competitor. But not having fans focus on positives, and everything is negative, doesn't move the decision making forward. One thing, tho, stands out, esp for the 9ers. And that is previous injury...ACL, shoulder, ankle, whatever. Not sure of the medical hx of all 3 or 4 QBs, but that is one thing that DEFINITELY will a big part of the decision ( i hope, anyway). Whoever we get, i sure hope he isn't rehabbing from some football injury. That is the one thing we just cannot do...or hx of nagging injuries. For us that is verboten.

Don't get too excited, it's in sports hospitality (formerly sports management).

Even if it was underwater basket weaving, completing a Master's and Bachelor's in under 4 years while also being on a preeminent collegiate sports program is a serious accomplishment. That doesn't change the fact that I want him least, but don't knock that...

Exactly. It's still a massive time constraint and very fast paced. Like he said, might as well take advantage of it. Many wouldn't.

Well he spent the first two years not playing, so had lots of time for school. Plus he obviously wasn't hitting the gym.

----------------------
"For me, that (DUI) incident was a transitional event for Mac," said former Alabama wide receiver Mac Hereford. "… He didn't go out anymore. He locked in and put his head down. He was balling before, but after that it was more of an 'I'm kicking ass and taking names' kind of vibe."
----------------------

And he is not the only one, for example:

----------------------
Former Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott was reportedly arrested in Starkville, Mississippi, on the morning of March 12 for driving under the influence, according to the Clarion-Ledger's Michael Bonner and Sarah Fowler.

Neither Prescott nor his representatives have commented on the matter, per Bonner and Fowler, but Chief Frank Nichols of the Starkville police confirmed Prescott was pulled over while driving a white 2016 Cadillac Escalade.

According to WREG News Channel 3's Eryn Taylor and the Associated Press, police records show Prescott took one breathalyzer test at 1:13 a.m. CST and another at 1:47 a.m. The first resulted in an "invalid sample," whereas the second rendered an "insufficient sample," per the report.

"I want to make a statement, and first take complete responsibility for my actions," Prescott told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Sunday. "I'm very remorseful for my misjudgment. I want to apologize to my true supporters, my family, Mississippi State University, the NFL and the kids who look up to me. I won't ask for forgiveness; however, I'll show the true man I am and exhibit my character through my actions and behavior going forward."

Prescott has been preparing for the 2016 NFL draft, which is slated to begin April 28 in Chicago, and as Bleacher Report's Matt Miller noted, the arrest came at an inopportune time.
----------------------

With regards to the photo, a 12 year old Mac Jones wearing the racist nobama costume, his parents are more to blame than he is. Parents, who allow a kid his age to buy or wear the costume or even that bought it themselves, and who condone this kind of behavior. This smells parents all the way due to the fact that most 12-year olds are probably not interested in politics. The big concern with this is how much influence they had and still have on him with that kind of stuff. This is not something to be taken lightly. You wonder if his African American teammates knew about it or what their reaction is now. Look at Bill Romanowski.

-----------------------
Romanowski has been accused of being racist at many points during his career and after retirement. Various media critics have pointed to his fines for actions including kicking Larry Centers in the head in 1995, spitting on San Francisco 49er receiver J.J. Stokes in 1997, and ripping Eddie George's helmet off in 2002, as evidence.

Romanowski called Carolina Panthers starting quarterback Cam Newton "boy" in a tweet after Newton's team lost in Super Bowl 50 and Newton conducted a very brief press interview. He later apologized after he was accused of being racist.
-----------------------

I'm not saying Mac Jones is going to do all of that stuff, but these are the type of red flags that alert you to do a bit more digging.

And this is why the Bosa thread had a no politics disclaimer. Take this stuff somewhere, this thread is not the place for any of it.

Kindly follow the sage advice of PHX. This is a football thread, not a politics thread. Let's get back to football and put the politics in the politics thread. Keep this up and those who continue will be posting...but only in politics thread not in NT...until AFTER The draft. If you want to be shut down for the next two weeks, then cut this politics crap out. THIS is a NON POLITICAL thread. .
