This thread is filled with people saying he will be bad.

Yeah, either you like him or hate him.

Nah nobody really saying he will be bad, this team is too talented and Shanny is too good with his play calling for that to happen. We saying in no world besides the Shanahans is this guy worth the 2021 #3 overall pick, 2022 1st and 3rd and 2023 1st and no coach besides Shanny would take him before Justin Fields and most teams, Lance too.
This is like a drug addiction for Kyle, He knows it's bad for him but he just can't help himself. And like drug addictions it's the people around that person that suffers the most. In this case the organization and fanbase. He loses out on Mahomes, Allen, and Watson and is willing to make that mistake all over again. Why? Because he is addicted to a QB type. All his talk about evolving is just that, Talk. Just like a person with a past drug addiction will say they will never touch drugs again, But if that drug is staring you right in the face you just can't resist.

And that's my problem with all of this. 95% of these haters truly believe he can/should be good with us and Kyle. Yet they let the trade up cloud their thinking into him being a bad player simply because they want more.

Joe was in hs and played basketball in the 70's. Bob Cousy isn't a hooper anymore.
I dont understand this. Are you saying that basketball players in the 70s werent great athletes. Or that Joe wasnt an excellent athlete because he played hoops in the 70s?

My gut says Lance as well.

I truly believe Kyle wants Jones and Lynch wants Lance and Lynch wins out

It's funny, for all the fans calling Kyle "arrogant" for taking Mac Jones, I could see that same argument for taking Trey Lance...a massive project.

If he takes Mac, he believes he's the perfect extension of his offense, athleticism be damned.

If he takes Lance, he's arrogant enough to believe he can work with a ton of raw traits and mold him into the 2M$ Man within a year.

Either way, with as quickly as he's developing grey hair, he's going to look like Gandalf by this time next year.

Look at this, my boy Furlow is grasping what so many Jimmy "haters" was trying to say when we wanted more than an "average-good" QB! Sorry bro, after all your defending of Jimmy, Shanahan is about to reward you with someone that could actually be worse than him and yes, give up all those picks to kiss us on the cheek while doing it. At least McCorkles thread will be more unanimous then Jimmy's? That's all I got

How many picks did we use to get Jimmy?

I'll wait.

I think he has the ability to be a good player with us. What people are upset about is that just about everyone believes that Lance and Fields have the much bigger upsides. When you give up that much draft capital it should be for a player with a very high ceiling. Swing for the damn fences! You make it sound like the trade should just be ignored.

I will root for the kid like crazy if he is the pick but it doesnt mean I agree with it

That's not clouded thinking. Everyone should want more from the #3 overall pick compared to the #12 overall pick. That my friend would be called common sense

That's what happens when you simply judge QB talent on measurables.

One. A 2nd round pick. Did you think you would wait long? If you will now make your point, no need cause I already did that for you in my post.
