I have never said Kyle can win with any QB and if I understand correctly, only a couple of those guys were personally selected by him. I don't think anyone was expecting CJ or BDN to be franchise guys. With this #3 pick we're talking about a guy who is expected to be THE guy.

And that's the problem most people don't think Kyle will pick "the guy" he's proven he's got no problem passing on players that turned out to be "the guy" instead going for scheme fit which gets you want you see above.

Most fans don't believe spending 3 yrs of 1sts on a system QB...they want MORE and rightfully so.

It's my belief that no one actually knows with any real certainty who "the guy" actually is, not even Kyle. I mean, we can have our opinions but it's all guesswork and everyone and their dog has 20/20 hindsight. As evidenced by how many QB's have been passed over by many only to turn out to be great, missing on them, especially QB's, isn't something peculiar to any franchise in the league. They all look back and say if, but, maybe, coulda, shoulda, woulda.

Any of these 5 QB's could be "the guy" for the club that ultimately takes them and all of them might be tragic busts.

Me, I think Kyle will take Mac but I don't really mind who he chooses. It's his job to make that call and there's no point me getting all bent out of shape over something I have zero control over. All I can reasonably do for now is hope that whoever is on that card does indeed end up being "the guy".

Honestly though. Making a move like this is a resume maker or breaker one way or another. No one stands to make or lose more from this move than Shannahan. What a ballsy move, such great theatre. I follow the team for entertainment and I'm being thoroughly entertained this off season. The next couple seasons are gonna be pretty exciting too just watching how this all unfolds.

Grant says he wants the Niners to draft Jones because he hates happy Niner fans and he can profit off angry Niner fans. We now know the reason why he made all those outragious trade ideas involving Bosa and KIttle. He knew those type of trades would anger Niner fans in which he would be able to profit off it.
