This thread is the slow-motion train wreck of the offseason. My excitement for the draft is waning as it becomes more and more clear he's going to be the pick.

Explain how he can improve physically? He's not gonna get more athletic compared to who he's playing against. Arm talent is mainly improved through mechanics and he already has good mechanics...from a physical/athletic aspect he's not getting much better. He is however gonna be playing vs much better athletes and teams that aren't two tiers worse then the team he's been on.

Hey look, a strawman in the wild.

No, their physical and mental traits already put them closer to young guys who are already really good QBs than Mac who has to overcome major physical deficiencies in agility and arm strength that tend to make more QBs into game managers than unicorns like Tom Brady.

This is the truth. We can guess from past history that there will be 1 or 2 busts from the top 5 QBs. Hopefully its not one that the Niners draft. But maybe this year will be different and they all will be good to great NFL Qbs.

you want to wait and see if he becomes special have it...other people would rather a different players for many reasons and have supplied info as to why.

If the reports are true, and I still have some doubt, it's hubris. It's Kyle saying to the rest of the league, "I'm smarter. My system is better. I can win with less talented players." He may be right, but it's an awfully big gamble and if it doesn't work out, with the capital used, it will sink our franchise for a decade.
