Not gonna lie, it'd be the funniest thing ever if Shanahan takes him and dude just completely balled out like crazy. So many have gone beyond investing themselves in his failure that there's no walking it back.

It could happen, I suppose. Anything could happen. It'd be even funnier if we keep Jimmy this year (unlikely if we take Jones) and he balls out like Ryan in 2016, wins the MVP, and a Super Bowl.

Then we can trade Jimmy for 2 first round picks and move on to the Mac Jones Era. Simple problem simple solution.
If you really think about it, plug in any QB who is even just a slight upgrade on Jimmy and that's a pro bowler in this offense. So even if we choose the worst of this QB bunch, chances are it won't tank our franchise. Whoever he is, he won't be a later round talent like CJ or an undrafted talent like Mullens.

It just makes sense. He's went to two super bowls with the kind of QB he likes. (the Kirk Cousins model)

Yep and just imagine if Jones is better than either... And on a rookie deal to boot.

He could very well be better than both. We will see. Jimmy, first year, full season as a QB -- 10 minutes from a super bowl win, same (in a sense) with Matt Ryan. Both superbowl appearances Kyle faced an opposing coach 15+ years older than him with 20+ years of playoff experience. Kyle is a top noch coach and I trust him in his player evaluations because of how he took a team from zero to the super bowl in 3 years.

Not sure if this video has been posted. It shows some really great throws by Mac. Also, some Great throws that were dropped by receivers that many people who haven't watched all of his game tape have seen before. The guy who made the video might like Mac more than me and I didn't think that was possible.

Haters are going to be extra mad when Mac is balling under Shanny.

"I'm so glad Shanahan took his guy"

Wonder what happens if the opposite occurs?

"It's the OL fault"
"Our receivers aren't next level"
"Kyle needs to scheme toads skiils"

Can hear it now, can't wait.

"It took Matt Ryan a year to learn Kyle Shanahan's offense. Give him time!"

This guy is supposedly the smartest man to ever go to the NFL and supposedly has a perfect photographic memory and has supposedly been running a version of Shanahan's offense for his whole college career. Based on what people have said about him, he should have the offense mastered by the time he's finished hugging Goodell on the podium.

Yep Burrow and Herbert started immediately with lesser rosters. Lawrence and Wilson will start immediately. Trade Jimmy for 2022 second and throw this MENSA at QB in there.

Has anyone watched "The Brady 6" ? Saw it on NFL network and it was kind of a past showing you the future thing when they started talking about what was said about Brady before the draft. It's the same almost exactly to what everyone says about Mac Jones. Doesn't make him Brady but since it always seems to be a coin toss on who will make it or not I wonder. There is no best way to evaluate a QB but life has show me you look to the greats and look for a pattern and then try to use that to decide.
What do you guys think ? Is it a coincidence or sign they each have the same evaluations pre-draft?

They're saying the same things about Mac Jones as they did about a QB that was taken in the 6th round?

Lol the excuse will be no different then when Jimmy was there.

I think Mac is going to tear it up. I wouldn't mind starting him right away. Trade Jimmy to NE for a 2nd and build around the rook.

People are trying wayyy too hard to make him Brady. 17 game starter on an all-star team.

Maybe the Mac crowd could be a little more realistic?

I mean no reason Fields or Lance couldn't start day 1 either. That elite athleticism and mobility should allow them to run in a circle for 6 minutes and 12 seconds to confuse the D and tire them out, then they can just chuck the ball 60 yards down field to an wide open receiver.

Why sit an elite level athlete with God like mobility, a cannon arm and elite accuracy after we traded 3 first round picks to get him. Especially Fields, I mean guy is even smarter than Mac given that aptitude test score, no reason for him not to know our play book before we even give it to him.

That how you Anti Mac guys sound FYI.
I can't believe people are comparing Mac Jones to Joe Burrow. If Burrow was in this years class I would be thrilled if he was available at 3 and we picked him. But he wouldn't be available at 3, He would be going #1 over Lawrence. Watch his College highlights, Mac is not even close to him when it comes to being Athletic. Burrow is way more mobile, He had over 800 yards rushing in College. Mac had 42. Burrow also had way more zip on his throws.

Bottom line pro-Mac and anti-Mac crowd have the same f**king chance of being right: 50%. There are no two ways about it.
I do find it funny if you don't support Mac that you are less of a fan, that is simply the best. Can't go against Kyle...ever.

I expect there to be a learning curve, and for the record I am (very) bearish on Mac Jones. But if we do draft him, I agree, there's no reason to have him sit. Flip Jimmy for what you can, use the cap room maybe on the o-line, and let's see what we've got

Why would NE give up anything at this point? Mac isn't gonna play any better than Jimmy imo
